No. MLB fixed that loophole a few years ago.... Bruce has no draft pick attached to him anymore.

It kills me how this is a trade Mets fans are pissed about. I agree on the surface it sucks but in reality they need to rebuild and fast and they added a pitcher with some upside. We all saw how Kluber came out of no where.

At the same time the Indians got a needed bat and body and really depth is a great thing in baseball. More so this gives Francona so many options on offense that he can basically bring in any PH to match up. As for young guys let the casual fans like me kind of worry about prospects till the time comes. Bruce is a great addition to this team now and might be a rental but we gave nothing up in terms of impact.

Mets made the move solely to save $4 million, I doubt they see a whole lot in Ryder. They are going no where and have the opportunity to get in the Bruce sweepstakes this summer if they're interested, which I doubt they are. Just Mets fans being Mets fans and finding something to be mad about

A lot of Mets fans were worried Bruce would've accepted the QO if the Mets extended it to him.

I think they would have been more pissed if they traded him to NYY for a slightly better return.
