2017 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Gray is in on the Indians though.

We all know the Indians FO has inquired and knows what it would cost to get Gray. Cleveland and Oakland have good relations with each other so I am not doubting it is actually very possible. I am just not sure how many more prospects a small market team should truly give up. The Lucroy deal of last year could net us a pitcher like Gray, but I'd rather keep Mejia and McKenzie since that is the type of deal the White Soxs got for Quintana.

Someone like Estrada or Happ is a more likely scenario, but no one actually expected us to get Miller like we did last season nor sign Encarnacion. Since we are going for it all, I don't doubt a major trade for a premium player this year, just cannot say who.

• Multiple teams are interested in Marlins outfielder Giancarlo Stanton. Stanton would have to waive his no trade clause in order to be dealt. (Ken Rosenthal, Fox Sports)

What would you trade for Stanton, if anything?

Uh, everything that everyone wants to trade for a high end ace and probably then some.

If Stanton is willing to come then I'm willing to add to our window of World Series's

Pipe dream type shit, but I'm giving the farm for his talent. So long Meija. Stanton's bat will make up for Yan's and Roberto's alone.

I would imagine they ask for Meija, Zimmer, Bradley, McKenzie though. Zimmer should be a no-no.

But nobody should expect the Dolan's to purchase that contract with the loss of prospects to boot. Unless 81 games are sold out, it takes alot of money to pay Stanton. I would imagine he goes to a big market to be honest.

We have control over Cookie and Salazar through 2020, Kluber 2021. Adding Gray, who would be under control through 2019, would make this rotation absolutely incredible.

Like boobie said though, losing 2 top tier prospects doesn't match our need for another starter. An average, rental starter would do fine for this year and wouldn't cost anyone all that important to our future.

Indians still need a improving deal, Meija, Zimmer, and McKenzie are off the table. We don't need the best player on the market. Go get the available player after Gray.

Got a email telling me horrible news...

My season tickets are going up.

Indians are about to add a contract in a few weeks :biggrinthumb:
