2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Sounds crazy but I could see Dan flirting with the luxury tax this year for the right deal. Not deep in but a few mil over.

Nah. First, if we were in the tax at all this year, it would be the repeater tax. No way he wants to be paying that with a team that isn't even going to the playoffs.

Second, to reset the repeater tax and go back to the "regular" tax, you have to be untaxed for two full years. That means no tax this year or next. That's probably about the only thing we know about this team for certain - no tax this year or next.

If we could clear cap space for someone and acquire a high pick. I think Dan does it. I'm not talking deep, but a few mil (factoring in repeater tax). Then we would be under for year 2 and 3 of Sextons career as we start to put our shit together.

Actually the mistake management made was signing an unreliable player to a 4 year $120m extension on top of the $25m he is making this year and expecting him to lead the team; this player then immediately went into the tank and here we are.

Right where they Cavs want to be- staring the tr best odds for the upcoming draft. Worst record equally a guaranteed top 5 pick.

having the worst team in the league while paying the luxury tax would be definitely be a first, breaking new ground!

Only way it would possibly be worth it is if you were getting multiple firsts for taking on salary

They definitely want to avoid the repeater tax the next 2 years. I think one of our expirings is just let to expire to prevent it from happening next year.

They are gonna be able to take on bigger money next year.

That's some Brooklyn Nets shit, right there.

Man going from the near top to the bottom of the food chain has been tough. This season can't end soon enough for me. Hope we get a good one in the draft

You have to appreciate things like maybe seeing more Zizic after the trade deadline. Small sparks of growth. Buckle up, it's going to be years not one year.

Agree with you there. That's why the last thing they need is for dude to come back on the scene busting 20/10 to help start winning games (and of course, the inevitable early April injury which puts him in doubt for off-season trades.)

Dan Gilbert is a fool. He actually was excited at the opportunity to run his team again without Bron here. Trading Kyrie when LeBron said he didn't want them to trade Kyrie is one of the most foolish things the Cavs have done and took our last chance to compete for a championship last year. If we had Kyrie maybe we beat GS we nearly won 2 games without him. LeBron might have left anyway if they kept Kyrie but you knew 100% he was gone once they traded him and got crap back.

We had the greatest player in the game and one of the top 20 players and we blew it. This franchise will never make another NBA Finals until Dan sells this team. He tore about a great thing because he needed to be the man again.

If we somehow miss out on Zion and RJ, is Ja Morant a real possibility? He’s definitely worthy of a top 3 pick, but I feel like itd be giving up on Sexton a year in if they were to take him.
