2018-2019 Tank Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
We didn’t do enough

I was hoping for Clarkson to be gone or they used JRs contract. We need the extra roster spot to take some shots at players.

We also don't have much space to work with in terms of keeping below the luxury tax line. Some sites say we have 500k. I think Bobby Marks says we have a million.

Buyout market looks pretty good. I wouldn't mind a guy like Macklemore. He sucks though. probably a longer shot than Chriss.

Our days of signing guys off the buyout market are over for a while

There are still guys that will get bought out or waived that won't get looks from contenders. Guys basically looking for their last shot at the NBA. I think Ben Mclemore, Nik Stauskas, and Shelvin Mack are in that category.

Mclemore is a crap version of Clarkson, stay away

I think the PG waived by the CLippers is a solid player.

I spent most of the time in the Trade forum..and now I'm bummed..
Why? Because of the circumstances.
The Cavs should have been players for some of this talent to add to a Finals contender like we have in the past..now we are relegated to being a bottom of the barrel rebuilder.
It will make or break the FO because now, they have be smart and cunning in aquiring talent..now just any seeming talented player , but ones who are going to cause the rest of the league fits when they play against them.

There are certain moments that hit harder than other when I think about, 18 months ago, we had LeBron, Kyrie and a title in tow.

Talking about Ben Mclemore on a buyout being one of those. :chuckle:

The only time Ben Mclemore's name should be mentioned is if we're ALL IN on the tank..... and also if we hope our ticket sales continue to go down the toilet because people refuse to watch that type of filth on the floor.

The fact that every single player we got in our midseason trades last year (Nance, Hood, Hill, Clarkson) turned out to be very flawed or not what we needed does not bode well for Koby being smart and cunning. But hopefully he learned something.

I think Koby might have been trying to walk the line between getting players that could help then and having value in the future. He has built a good amount of assets so far and used Hood and Hill to do so. Henson, Knight, and Clarkson will net us more assets in the future. I think he has been good about getting more flippable assets.

What he does with those assets will be more telling of how good of a GM he is at the end of the day.
