2018 Buckeyes Football

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I've been all-fucking-in on Haskins since the getgo. Guy exhibits a plentiful amount of confidence in the pocket and combined with his arm talent, I think we will learn plenty about zone6.

There's just too much talent at skill for it to be the sole reason the offense sputters. JK with another year in an offseason strength and conditioning program is another pleasant thought.

you could go on tbh; there's plenty to be excited about in 18 barring big injuries. Concerns are more defensive for me: consistently dominant play from the line, and simple improvement in the secondary. Sheffield went through some serious struggle for a decent amount of the season. so whether he'll be able to string together a strong -- at least majority of a season will be interesting to monitor.

Yeah, ever since Haskins flipped from Maryland to OSU, I thought he would be the guy to follow up JT.

The schedule isn't easy next year, but I believe we'll be able to handle it. TCU is losing basically their entire team. PSU has key losses on the roster and on the coaching staff.

The one game I'm worried about is at Michigan State. They return basically their entire team. After beating them by infinity last year, I can't imagine Dantonio won't have them ready to play.

I'm in the minority, but I view next years schedule slightly harder based on road games.

At Penn State, @ Michigan State, @ Jerry World against TCU, @ Purdue (don't sleep on this game).

The marquee of name recognition favors last year, but we had PSU, MSU, and Oklahoma all at home. Then we got a really mediocre Michigan with a sub-level QB to cap the regular season. Michigan with Shea Patterson now presents a new dynamic in what is always a tough season ender.

The road games at PSU and MSU are going to be grimy.

I think we can afford one regular season loss assuming we win Big 10 title.

We'll see how PSU & TCU replace their lost players, but for now I'm leaning towards 2017 being a slightly tougher schedule. But I put more stock in the players than I do home vs away. Both obviously tough, though.

Also, Shea Patterson hasn't even been granted eligibility to play in 2018 yet. And he is their one hope to have anything better than a below average offense.

I'm confident we can go 11-1 with that schedule, but we can't afford to lose to the wrong team at the wrong time like we did in 2015.

There is some skepticism around Patterson getting to play this year, because it was known he was going to transfer prior to the sanctions being handed down.

Ultimately, and I'd love to see him have to sit a year, I think it'd be petty to force a different set of rules on him vs. his entire incoming class because it was basically known ahead of time he had one foot out the door. If his incoming class has now gets waivers to play based on the Ole Miss sanctions, I think it's only right , he does too. But fuck Michigan......

And BTW, Peters crushed any chances he has to be their QB next year......he was beyond awful against South Carolina after 3 weeks of bowl prep. McCaffrey is the next young guy in line, but everything I've heard is he's mediocre at best. He's all name recognition based on being a McCaffrey. His level on competition was poor, the offense wasn't great, and he looks the part, but isn't that great of a QB....I guess we'll see. It's just interesting the weakest part of UM has been QB play, and now they're relying on transfers because Harbaugh can't get it right.....

Yep. Year 4 of "QB whisperer" Harbaugh and all of Michigan is praying that a transfer is granted eligibility so they can have better than awful play at the QB position. Pretty amazing. If he has to sit for a year they are fucked in 2018. With that schedule they would struggle to do better than 9-3 even with him.

goddamnit vrabel

Hopefully the "2-year assistant commitment Meyer rule" prevails. Dunno.

That's a huge step for Day though; couldn't blame the guy

It's the by product of success. OSU gets more early entries than almost anyone because we have more talent. We also lose more assistant coaches because we have so much coaching talent.

It sucks losing players/assistants early, but it's worth the tradeoff.

Fighter of the night-man

Ahhhhhh ahhhhhhhhhhhhhh
