I literally cannot fathom a reason to target Dez on 3rd down or in the redzone instead of targeting those two.

And if those primary options are covered, the other guys we have are way better secondary options than Dez, who won't even run his route if he's not the primary target.

So, since this is all hypothetical, say Dez goes to Pittspuke and catches a couple TDs with 70 yards in the opener, what's the word then?

Same situation as Baker/Barkley... they won’t ever let it go that he’s bad..

Like, Baker had a solid half against one of the worst teams in the league in a preseason game. Barkley had one nice run because two players slipped, and proceeded to get no yards on his next 4 carries (go figure).

Claiming those as wins already is embarrassing and reeks of desperation.

If a team as good as the Steelers wanted Dez, he'd already be there.

Someone will end up picking him up out of desperation because of an injury. Or, the Browns will pick him up now because they're the Browns.

Right. In an alternate reality where he wasn't a pain in the ass, and would embrace the role of a #3/#4 receiver, then I'd have no problem with it. Unfortunately that reality does not exist.
