2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Looks like Kizer will be the starter for hopefully the whole season so we will see his talent. He has all the arm talent needed so hopefully we aren't playing him too soon and our staff can get the most out of him possible!

Now to you guys who know college football, who are your top 5-10 players in next years draft outside of the QB position?

I don't think the Browns need to invest early picks on OL, TE, DE or LB. Those positions could use more depth (especially LB), but I'd rather address that after the third round unless someone unexpectedly slips and the value is just overwhelming.

For the Browns specifically, IF Kizer ends up being good and they don't need a quarterback, then I think RB/WR/DB are the positions to address early.

Here are a few names.

Saquon Barkley, RB, Penn State
Christian Kirk, WR, Texas A&M
Calvin Ridley, WR, Alabama
Derwin James, DB, Florida State
Minkah Fitzpatrick, DB, Alabama

The good news for the Browns... if they end up NOT needing a QB, they'll likely be able to come away with some elite prospects since there will probably be three QBs that go very early and probably another 2-3 OTs as well.

Just glancing at Walter Football they have us getting Christian Kirk if Kizer pans out and CB McFadden from Florida State with the first two picks, then DT Jones from Ohio State, RB Chubb and the S Harrison from Alabama (They have the Browns getting the 21st pick from the Texans, I think if they were higher in that mock they would get Fitzpatrick). How would something like that look for you?

Part of me believes we won't need a DT in round two, but we don't know how the season will play out. Otherwise I think we definitely hit needs on the roster.

Cobbs and Ward are looking very impressive. Great duel between them going on.

Does anyone have a good scouting report on Cobbs? He has the Size, but does he have the speed?

What do you guys think of QB Lagow from Indiana?

This team right now is a great combination for dominating the future: Plays hard, learning through reps, but probably making enough mistakes due to youth to ensure a top-four pick.

Provided Kizer continues to develop, the Browns will be in a prime spot to fleece the Bills as the latter desperately wants a top-three pick QB to replace Taylor. Both the Bills' firsts (through KC) and their second should do.

What do you guys see the Browns doing with three firsts? Say Picks #6, #14 and #20? RB, WR and ?.

Do you make JAX a deal they can't refuse (a good second round pick) for Robinson rather than take a WR in the top-20 @Jack Brickman?

Tough call. He's due for a big contract next year I believe. That said, he's proven he's capable of being a WR1 when he doesn't have shit QB play. I'd certainly consider it. The main problem would be, if Coleman blows up too, you really can't pay two WRs like that.

The problem with that theory is that the Bills might be worse than the Browns this year....

The Bills, Rams, 49ers, Jags, Jets, and Bears could all easily be worse than the Browns this year.

Goodbye, Josh Allen hype train. He will officially have the "bad play against top talent" tag. Lousy day at Iowa. He is just not the guy some want him to be.

I know it's Akron but for the brief amount of time I could tolerate watching the game, Barkley really does look like a goddamn animal.

Watching the ND game, Kizer is on the sidelines with his ex-teammates as a guest of the athletic director. Wanted to see Equamerious St. Brown, but Wimbush is going to drive me nuts this year. He's a one read then run type QB. St. Brown did have a beautiful 30+ yard catch so far.
