2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
His pass blocking is...not great.

Do you think that is due to physical limitations or just how he is used at PSU? If he hasn't been tasked with it by the coaches, that's one thing. If he's getting steamrolled by defenders, that's another. Need to start watching more State games I guess.

Love those picks if we kept all of them. But I think the more likely scenario is trading down from 5 for some team that wants a quarterback. Grab a first rounder a bit further down, then another first rounder for 2019.

It's what this FO does, and really pays off on the long run. And crap, imagine if the haul if we end up with a pick in the top 1-2....
Absolutely agree. I think we'll move down from our own pick if we don't need a QB. I also could see us moving back into the first again like last year from #37 to end up with 3 first rounders--these guys are savvy, and they want that controllable fifth year option on draft picks.

I more or less was just giving a representation. There's no way we stay at all of those (fake) spots.

Lamar Jackson QB1
At this point, it should not even be debatable. Dude is becoming more consistent and accurate. His footwork is getting better as well. Hes the only QB I would take in the top 10 in this class, and its really not close at this point.

He has no physical limitations. Just needs to learn technique

I would have a hard time passing on him if i were ant QB needy team in the top 5. The crazy thing is he's 20 and not even remotely lose to filling out physically. He makes a lot of difficult throws look effortless.

Man you guys are consistent with wanting a RB top 10

I'm just not interested in a RB that high. I've seen way too many can't miss guys miss and it's one of the most dependent positions on other players.

I like what Lamar can do against Purdue and UNC secondaries that are below average. He absolutely has improved.

Real test this Saturday, if the Clemson D can pressure him into the mistakes we saw him make last year.

This. Hes still not even top five for me.

Offensively, we really need a stud WR. Don't know if this draft has one, but getting a great young WR to grow with Kizer would be fantastic.

A stud CB would give us the missing link on our defense, and make possible a leap into elite status.

Yeah, I know people talked about trading for one like Robinson (pre-ACL tear, obviously), but I can't see this front office trading for a WR in a contract year that is going to get paid like that. I'd imagine that's why we weren't in on Watkins. Clearly a great talent, but if he plays well this year he's getting paid.

I won't say this super confidently or anything, but is there any thought we could still use another consistently good pass rusher?

Ben really didn't seem threatened in the pocket the entire game from what I had seen (not all of the game but a good amount). That big conversion he made at the end of the game to seal our fate seemed as though he had a solid 5, slow seconds.

Robinson could be had cheap though this off-season with that tear, if he passes physically.

I'd prefer to draft a top WR though, preferably over 6 feet.

Just really depends on how the season bears out.

Need to see what the second year brings for Ogbah and Nassib. Do Holmes or Orchard make a leap. How many games does Myles play and does he make it through the whole season.

You could argue the more likely scenario is the team looking for that Aaron Donald type elite disruptive DT.

That said, it's also entirely possible we avoid the DL in the first three rounds as positions like WR, RB, CB, S, and OT may take precedence early.

All in all, starting out with 6 picks in the top 72 is fantastic regardless of the direction we take.

Yeah, but if we had traded for him and he hadn't torn it, he'd have wanted to get paid this summer.
