2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Yea I would have loved to have seen Rosen compete against a Buckeyes defense or another upper level team in a Rose Bowl or a bowl somewhat significant ?... Unfortunately only got to see him play in that Your Mother Should Have Swallowed Bowl back in ‘15...

Unfortunate for Rosen he played on one of the worst rosters in the Power 5.

John Elway won even less in College.

Who cares?

He’s won less than Mark Sanchez, means nothing.

Or a playoff berth, for that matter.

The same Mark Sanchez who has 4 more playoff wins than any QB you’ve watch lead the Browns in over 20 years ??

Shhhhhhhhhhhhh

Lol, #winning

I don't think winning is the most important aspect when evaluating a college QB, but I do think it factors in. If a QB wins and has shit mechanics, is undersized, and an alcoholic (aka Manziel), then sure, winning doesn't really matter. But if a supposedly elite QB can't lead his team to a winning season in college, I do think that's at least somewhat of a red flag.

There are, of course, other factors, but that's the case with every aspect of evaluation.

QB winz can actually suck on my dick.

Fucking worthless.

Trivia Question:

Name me the last time a QB went #1 overall following the season in which his college coach got fired for not winning enough games.

Won as many games as Goff did.

Who cares?

But to answer your question, I think John Elway.

‘82 was Elway’s last season at Stanford, where he went 5-6. His last game was losing the Cal game with the band on the field.

Actually, Paul Wiggin came back and coached Stanford again in 1983, going 1-10. Then, his ass was fired.

Look, I get your point.

Winning as a college QB isn’t everything. I’m not going to truly hold that against Rosen as some end-all be-all.

Elway had a poor college record, as did many many successful NFL passers.

However, I’m thinking that seriously might be the first time it’s happened if he goes first overall.

What has Darnold won?

If Darnold plays against Washington State with more starters available, they likely win that game.

So I think that is a bit unfair. Darnold accomplished a shitload in the face of adversity. Even getting his team to a NY 6 bowl game was impressive, IMO.

Think you are looking too much into it. They just hired Chip Kelly. They'd have fired anyone to hire Chip Kelly.

If Rosen played in 2017 with more players on his utterly terrible squad, they’d have won more games too.

I was asking what Darnold won sarcastically, bc it doesn’t matter.

Both of them have elite traits which lend themselves well to the next level.

Since Rosen's record is being brought up again, here again are his box scores in UCLA's losses this year. He was pulled early 2nd half vs. Washington and missed the next game.

Rosen.png

USC averaged 32.6 PPG and allowed 26.1 PPG
UCLA averaged 33.8 PPG and allowed 36.8 PPG

UCLA defense allowed 47 ppg in these 5 games.

I'm curious to see some video of those interceptions. Not super alarmed, but curious.
