2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Eagles Vick and Lamar are pretty similar.

Falcons Vick had a goddamn rocket. Lamar doesnt even come close to that.

I still like Lamar a lot, btw. Hes probably QB3 OR 4 to me. Hes right there with Baker. God I hope he goes to the right spot where someone will use him as a QB weapon. Someone like Jacksonville would be awesome.

This is where i have him, i actually like him more than Baker, but way behind Donald, and pure prospect, Rosen is #1, but injury, attitude, etc matter.

To me only 2 QB's are worthy of the number 1 spot, only 3 are worthy of the 1st round. I really dont like Baker or Josh Allen in the 1st round although i am sure they will both go there.

But we all have our opinions.

I've seen Guice slipping to the second round lately. I'd happily take a potential top 10 rusher at #33. He makes people miss and drags defenders for extra yards after contact on pretty much every run I've seen.

Do you like Guice more than either Georgia back?

really think this draft is 4 or 5 deep as far as first round rb talent, so someone will slip, rb's dont go in the 1st like they used to.

I’d have them ranked (for Cleveland):

Sony Michel
Derrius Guice
Rashaad Penny
Ronald Jones
Kerryon Johnson
Royce Freeman
Nick Chubb

1-4 are extremely close, tbh.

I think Guice is more of a traditional three down back. The way Guice runs with great forward lean invites less punishment than Sonny Michel, who is a little upright in how he runs. But there's no denying how explosive Michel looked late November through the end of the CFB Championship. Guice is like a Frank Gore type guy who you can just keep feeding the ball. Michel gets compared to Kamara, who doesn't get as many touches but pops a lot of explosive plays. I'd go with Guice, but it's not an easy choice.

Body build, style of mobility, & accuracy all come to mind. Darnold is inaccurate when his mechanics break down. Jackson just misses sometimes which is worrisome to me. He hasnt completed 60% of his passes once in his 3 years. Darnold has completed 67% and 63% in his two years respectively. Jackson has ridiculous upside, but his playing style is extend to run and I just can’t see that holding up in the NFL. Darnold meanwhile uses his mobility to extend and throw.

I have Darnold behind Rosen right now, but that gap is a lot smaller than the one between Darnold & Jackson.

Is body-build a concern with Rosen? He just looks rather abnormally built. Narrow shoulders, long neck. Scrawny. Those shoulder pads look like a 14 year-olds.

Darnold is pretty sturdy. As is Jackson, Allen. But, considering Goff is a stick, does it matter? @AZ_

I am with you on Michel, just something about the way he runs.

If either are there early 2nd (Michel or Guice), and we dont make a splash at rb in free agency, i think that would be a solid pickup with either early 2nd pick, really a steal.

And our rb rankings are very similar.

It bugs the hell out of me when people refuse to address the downside of people they are hyping. People pretend that the only criticisms of Jackson are of his style, and just ignore the abysmal career completion percentage.

But Josh Allen is rightly downgraded for accuracy, and there's absolutely no reason the same criticism shouldn't be applied to Jackson.

The concussions are my bigger concern.

But, what is the real negative of having this build?

Doesn’t seem to affect arm strength.

It is just the make/style of the shoulder pads. They are specifically designed to be smaller, compact and tight — so as not to impair the throwing motion. It does look like he has a long neck, but i would venture he is average to normal size for his age.

I go back and forth on the top eight. I do believe Chubb gets devalued too much because of a bad championship game and the consistency of Michel in late-November on, but Chubb had the bulk of the carries throughout the season. I wonder if Michel looked that good because he was fresh, while Chubb just kind of gassed in the championship.
