2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I think the Browns would be best served to find a WR in free agency this year than invest a high draft pick on one. Especially if we draft a rookie QB and he plays this coming season, I'd rather have a veteran WR corp instead of getting younger and more raw (if that's even possible) at the position.
we have enough picks to do both. We should attack in FA and draft. Not a great Wr class, but with all our picks we can easily find one or even two that could help us short term and long terms. But yes, we need to sign a vet first.

The last pick in the second round may be a pretty good spot to grab a guy that fell who had a top 50 grade. Unless Sutton is somehow still there at 33. Then you probably just take him.

Also love Berrios in rounds 4 or 5
This is been explained a million times but we have no idea if Coleman and Gordon will still be on the field by week 4, so a vet is def a priority in FA. Perhaps 2. Then still draft a kid, but maybe not as high.

Watching the Olympics, I've noticed that the world's best athletes and top performers in their sports are really, really, ridiculously good looking. It's like a prerequisite.

The Browns need to bring in a panel of ladies to break any ties and choose the best looking dude to draft. It's science.

If Saquon Barkley went to Georgia and Sony Michele went to Penn State what would be different right now?

Then Michel would have more exposure. Barkley might be underrated/underheralded, if he had to share a backfield with someone.

100% agree.

As Georgia's line was better, it would have been nice to see Michel behind PSU's line. But he would have been the guy there.

Also, I think it could have "helped" Barkley a little (as in, he wouldn't have had as many chances to be stuffed behind the line like a green pepper) and they would probably use him in what he is good at - catch passes.

% runs w negative yardage / yardage lost:
Barkley 16.2% -260 yds
Guice 8.6% -70 yds
Penny 8% -88 yds
R Jones 7.8 % -76 yds
Michel 7.1% -44 yds

This goes to the running style of Barkley which is homerun or nothing. Very Barry Sanders-esque, but i just don't think he is the talent of Barry which is why the concern.

This is the only report I’ve heard the opposite of Rosen off the field issues being over blown. I’m choosing to believe what I’ve been told and what I’ve read saying he does.

You and @AZ_ both seem to have more info than the rest of us and you have conflicting info. Conflicting so much that b00bie thinks your take is "funny". Intriguing.

That article absolutely nails it for me. Barkley's superior physical talent is undeniable, but his willingness to make the kind of runs that are the bread and butter of the NFL just doesn't match that of Guice or Michel. And I hate all those negative yardage plays. Many, many times, good NFL run defenses just won't give up the big plays, but you have to keep running to keep them honest. That means at lot of 2-4 yard runs. I really worry that rather than gaining 2-4 yards on those plays where not much is there, Barkley is going to get stuffed or lose yardage.

He's akin to the big, physical QB who has all the physical traits but keeps throwing picks.

You know a team can look at him and think they can fix him to take advantage of the elite physical tools, but it's an enormous risk in a deep class.

Too much risk for me.

Most telling and greatest post to support the eye test that I’ve seen yet.

Interesting though... do they have the stats of Barkley’s freshman year versus this past season?

I swear, he ran more north/south as a freshman.

It’s like his Heisman campaign made him consciously try to break everything outside.
