2018 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information

Bit of a preview on Darnold
He also played a pretty good villain in The Incredibles.

Is Nick Chubb RB from Georiga not someone we should be looking at in first round?

Saquon Barkley is the top of this class, but I'm definitely excited to catch a few Georgia games to see if Chubb is returning to his 2015 form. We have all seen athletes who suffer a knee injury, don't look right the first year back, but then look fine in year two. In the 2015 season, Chubb looked like a three down back. Crow is likely moving on after this season, so keep an eye on college running backs.

Barkley and Derrius Guice are the top of this class, but definitely want to see Chubb's progress in year two post ACL.

I think Guice is better than Fournette, personally.

This is why it's even more important for Kessler to make a significant jump or Kizer to show great promise.

With the absurd amount of picks we have next year, especially early on (two 1st's and three 2nd's) one will most likely be a RB.

Not using one of those picks on a QB would be a great start to a playoff push. (not saying we are making playoffs next year. But if our picks pan out this year and our "sophomores" progress further, we should at least be battling for a wildcard spot)

As a Browns fan, it's hard to let yourself dream too much.

However, if somehow... someway... the internal chatter about Kizer impressing the coaches rings true and he looks like our future this season, I would drool over a world where the Browns could add Barkley to this backfield.

In addition, you could theoretically address receiver, free safety, and corner all in one swift swoop.

To me, Kizer is the story line of 2017. If he develops quickly, it changes the entire 2018 landscape.

The two most important story lines for me dealing with the 18 draft is how well our QBs do and how well the Texans do. If we can have one of the guys in camp this season take the reigns of this team and lead them into the future as the QB of the Browns, then that frees up an early pick for a need/BPA rather than being forced to draft a QB. Also where the Texans place is another factor since if they miss the playoffs, then two top 15 picks again with a ton of cap space. Makes the potential of the 18 team to be scary good!

Texans are solely relying on their QB play.

Their DEF will keep them in games (if they remain healthy - I can't wish for injuries upon anyone) and their playmakers are just stupid good (Fuller, Braxton, Hopkins, Miller, Their TE, can Strong make a jump?), so it all depends on how Watson/Savage are. Their offensive line is horrible. So that is our pot at the end of the rainbow. We need teams to apply so much pressure on whoever is back there, that their playmakers don't have time to do anything, and their DEF tires out from being on the field so much.

One can hope, at least.

I, for one, hope Deshaun Watson struggles to read defenses, has to run for his life all year, turns it over, and does not look like a guy who should've been picked anywhere near #12.

If that's the case, the Houston record will handle itself.

I want everything you see on Watson to prove the Browns correct on passing him up.

Another player we should be watching is Adonis Alexander, a sophomore 6'3 cornerback for Virginia Tech. He had great coverage and tackling metrics as a true freshman, but also got caught with his hand in the cookie jar with a marijuana possession charge.
