2018 Game #5 | #4 Ohio State @ #9 Penn State | September 29th, 2018 @ 7:30 PM EST

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Why you'd ever want to take the ball out of McSorley's hands in that situation is beyond me. Their run game hadn't done a damn thing all game aside from McSorley's. Probably the worst play call I can think of.
It was a read option, but dremont blew up the keep option.

Not saying it was a good call but mcsorely did have a keep option.

It was just them over thinking the whole play. It was just them thinking of the most unexpected play.

Who cares. You’d rather call out OSU fans than enjoy a win. Jacksss
Lol, funny thing is was when he basically declared the game was over too when he said dont worry we have the Browns tomorrow!!!

We need to put Haskins under center and work some play action in there. He's made to work from under center. Run a more pro style offense with him and he'll fucking thrive.
For better or worse, Ohio State’s offense operates out of the shotgun. It’s been that way since 2012 and it won’t change until Urban Meyer is no longer on the sidelines.

I think we just don't have the personnel to do it. Do we have TEs that can block on the line? We don't have a full back or a big RB to block with I formation. We are built with alot of WRs and two very good RBs that the spread out of the shotgun really makes sense for the team.

I do wish we could get him under center for 4th and short to do QB sneaks. It would at least get the RB closer to the line if he is going to hand it off.

Yeah, had no business winning that.

But as someone else said the winner of this matchup can say that a lot lately.

When keeping it real goes wrong

Full game thoughts

- It was a good adjustment going to the screen game with all the pressure PSU was bringing. So credit the staff. Not sure why they went way from it after they went up 14-13, but they pulled it out when needed.

- Alarming thing was when Haskins had time, he could get nothing downfield. This has been the issue ever since 2014. If OSU is going to win the CFP, they are going to face a defense that can get pressure without blitzing so much. Need to find a way for WRs to get open vs good defenses.

- The 4th and 1 was crap, but I don't know what you call there. Haskins was shaky at that point and they were keying on Dobbins. Short yardage is something they need to work on.

- I didn't mind the KJ Hill wildcat call, because we had the defense on their heels. But after that we went away from the screen game until it was almost too late.

- Give the defense props for keeping the game in hand for the first half.

- That said, WHY DO WE PLAY SO MUCH MAN?!?!? And why do so when Mcsorely was taking off every other play with no spy? The defense was great, but overaggressive playcalling is killing us.

- Drue Chrisman was great in the first half when we needed him. Unsung hero.

- As great as Juwan Johnson's catch was early, Ben Victor's TD was just amazing. Credit Parris Campbell and Rashon Berry with some great downfield blocks. But that was just an amazing play. I know Victor's been inconsistent, but I think he's the most talented wr of the upperclass wrs
