2018 NBA Draft - June 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He really didn't take many shots. I saw where if he missed 4 more shots he is shooting in the low 30s instead of 40%

He is a good shooter on good volume from mid range and short range. He isn't a player that can't shoot. He isn't Rondo.

His issue is shooting off the dribble from 3 and 3 only. He will be a good catch and shoot player in the NBA... jus don't know how good he is going to be as an off the dribble shooter.

What's Shai's ceiling if he never develops an accurate 3-point shot off the dribble? I have him top-10 on my board, but I think this is a legitimate concern. Almost all elite offensive guards these days have deep range off the dribble.

If he played with LeBron I don't think it's a problem at all. If not, it will limit him. He has that sneaky way to get to the rim without the threat of a shot though. He also seems like a guy who may look more athletic in the NBA to me. Sometimes he looked like he went by guys without trying.

Shai does't have the highest ceiling in the draft because of that reason, but he has one of the highest starter potential and one of the lowest bust rates.

I just like him as a player, I think he is unique. He is a breath of fresh air with all the PG chuckers out there lol.

Whatever happens, draft the best possible player. Hope Trae Young falls or MPJ. Do not draft Collin Sexton.

I agree. I'm just saying I don't see how he ever becomes a 20+ ppg scorer unless his jumpshot improves leaps and bounds (which is possible, but unlikely). If his realistic ceiling is more like 18 points and 8 assists per game, is that enough upside to justify picking him at 8?

Sounds like Porter dropping out of the top 10 injury risk too high.

Windhorst: I know Shai Gilgeous-Alexander is shooting up draft boards but from what I can tell, it doesn't seem like he wants to play for the #Cavs. He patently refused to work out for them, in fact made a point to tell them he didn't want to be there.

Didn't know if you guys saw this,,

Welp...........if you had said before the NCAA season began that the Cavs could have got a top 2 prospect in Porter Jr you would been thrilled. No one wants him now with his injury.

So the guy I thought we were taking since we drew the 8th pick Sexton is the guy.

Looks like we're getting Michael Porter Jr

The Suns and the Kings are really going to regret this day for many years to come, you have by far the best player in the draft available who’s a 6’8 PG/SG and you decide to take a center?

A position that is dying in the modern NBA, besides Joel Embid who’s injury prone as fuck btw, when was the last time you saw a center being the best player in a draft? 95% of the time it’s the guards or small forwards that become the most valuable players in a draft class, never take a center first overall unless it’s freaking Shaq.

Not really surprised though, the suns and kings a terribly run organizations, people will compare this to drafting Greg Oden over KD or drafting Blake Griffin over Curry in the future.
