2018 NBA Draft - June 21

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
One of the benefits of Bamba is his frame seems to be able to add alot of size. Not Dwight Howard size nut a decent amount of non PED muscle mass

Big game tomorrow for Doncic and Real Madrid on the road against 2nd-place Olympiacos. They've dropped to 5-5 after a blazing 4-0 start to the season, and need to get back on track fast to stay in the playoff race.

They're still missing their second and third leading scorers (Anthony Randolph and Gustavo Ayon) as well as last year's MVP (Sergio Llull) to injury, so they'll lean heavily on Doncic as usual.

might be time to not follow the top 5 guys as close........ Just saying this is trending towards a trade the way the Nets are playing

Speaking for myself, I just enjoy watching these players learn and develop, and I think it's cool to be able to look back at NBA players years later and remember my impression of them when they first went on the NBA radar. It's just icing on the cake that the Cavs have an outside chance of landing one of these top guys.

EDIT: As for Doncic in particular...I don't think there's been an 18-year-old put in the crucible like he is now since LeBron. We're watching basketball history with him.

33 points (12/21 shooting), 6 boards, and 4 assists for Doncic in a tough overtime loss to Olympiacos. 33 points is the highest total by any player in a Euroleague game since last November when Teodosic scored 34, and he did it against the league's best defense.

EDIT: This video includes all field goals and assists

Not sure what this is, but it sounds dirty.

Will look good in a Chicago Bulls jersey

Nothing scientific, but Doncic's "3/4 court sprint" at the end of the first half was remarkably fast. He gathers the rebound with 6.5 seconds left:

and slings the (admittedly off-target) pass with 3.6 seconds left, just before he crosses the free throw line:

That's elite speed with the ball, even by NBA standards. Makes the defense collapse, and creates an open 3.

USC really guarding Trae Young out on the perimeter 5-10 feet off the 3 point line. Even still, Young has been finding teammates around the floor and leading their offense really well.

His defense on the other hand is nothing short of abysmal lol.

I also don't really understand the appeal with Chimezie Metu right now.

Duke upset by Boston College. Bagley's defense in the second half was horrid. Got killed on switches 3 or 4 straight possessions.

Gary Trent Jr might finally be finding his shot.

Ky Bowman is a heck of an offensive college player.

If we're going Tier system...

Tier 1: Doncic

Tier 2: Bamba/Ayton

Tier 3: Bagley/Jackson/Porter

Tier 4: Young/Sexton/Bridges/Bridges/Carter

Who would you move, and who am I missing in Tier 4? I was tempted to put Musa in there to incite some controversy...sort of like with Trae Young it's hard to poke any holes in his statistical resume, but you look at his physique and wonder if he'll just get blown away at the NBA level.

I would probably have Bagley in the same tier as Bamba and Ayton, simply because they all feel kinda similar to me in that they all have a lot of upside. Bagley might not have quite as much upside as Bamba or Ayton but I trust that he will reach it more than I trust Ayton to reach his for example.

I like Ayton over Bagley because he's got a great body and a great (offensive) skillset for a modern NBA center, even if he still hasn't fully developed that skillset.

Bagley also has a great offensive skillset for a modern NBA center, but the problem is he's probably not a center, and he may never be a center...and his skillset isn't really what you want from a 4. Still an amazing talent, but a notch below Bamba/Ayton for me because I don't think he has the same straightforward path to stardom those guys do.

He doesn't really fit on the Cavs at all, but this thread is lacking some Dzanan Musa talk for sure lol. Wouldn't put him in that tier of guys though probably right now.
