2018 NBA Playoffs

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The Chris Paul Effect strikes again. Left things to the biggest choker in the NBA when they had GSW on the ropes.

I wonder how Morey's analytics address the compounded choke factor with CP3 & Harden on the same team. The analysis should have predicted the outcome seen tonight, or it is worthless.

If CP3 wants to go to The Finals, he should demand a trade to Cleveland. Bron has a pretty good record in conference semifinals. Better than James Harden, anyway.

Now everyone is going to have some irrational belief that GS will be vulnerable next year lol.

GS isnt going to lose anytime soon.

They are a bit worse this year, because their bench isn't as good. Iggy and Livingston are getting older and just not as athletic. They are going to be very hard to beat though.

This is why LeBron jumping ships to either Philly or Rockets is a big risk which can have the same result or worse he faces this year. Both teams have injury riddled players.

Injury-riddled chokers, too...

If LeBron can somehow, someway win a ring with THIS team against THESE Warriors, wow... then just go ahead and build the statue and let’s permanently end the LBJ vs LeBron debate

In my mind, it’s already settled. LeBron is the GOAT. He’s long-surpassed his alter-ego, LBJ. Who is slightly ahead of Lelbron.

Not gonna say that the Refs weren't completely fucking shit but the Harden No-calls were only sort-of awful, let's just go through the 4 plays real quick. Keep in mind that I do not have access to replays at the moment and also keep in mind the Harden Rule. This rule being in order for it a shot to be in the act of shooting the player has to have to hands on the ball and in his upward shooting motion.

Play 1: Jorden bell appeared to have contacted Harden near his wrist as well as undercut him on his shot - should have been 3 free throws.

Play 2: Draymond (I think?) reaches over and has his hand on harden's upper arm. Harden, while dribbling, goes up through the contact on the shot. However, the distinction here is he does not properly gather the ball with two hands on it when the contact is made, again classic Harden rule. Now, there was no call at all which is horseshit, but it was not a shooting foul.

Play 3: Now this is the big one that everyone is complaining about. I can't remember who, but again contact was made before Harden properly gathered going into his shot - Harden rule. Good common foul call, it was not an and-1.

Play 4: Can barely remember this play at the moment, honestly. I just remember that it was another Harden rule play that was the correct call and put the Rockets in the Bonus and Harden to the line.

This is how I saw the plays live at least, haven't had the ability to go back in awhile, so perhaps I'm wrong on the timing of one of these plays.

I look for Cavs to revert back to their lineup that was essentially designed to play against GS:

Love - Green
Green - KD
LeBron - Iggy
Smith - Klay
Hill - Curry

I will say, I like our bench in this series.

Korver can play anytime Looney, Mccaw, Livingston, or Young is in game. Korver can guard any of those guys and we’d be happy to let them try and exploit that line-up.

It’s great that TT has some confidence rolling into this series....if he comes in as energy off the bench, which I think he will, I like what he can provide on the glass in the second unit.

I like what Larry Nance can do from an athleticism standpoint. I think Jordan clarkson can exploit Golden States second unit when he gets time.

I feel like our guys are very inconsistent, but GS’s are just as well.

They’ve got in advantage in their starting 5, and Draymond and Iggy are both as good as you’re going to get going against LeBron.

But I think we’ve got an outside shot. LeBron is going to muddy the game up with his pace and tempo, he’s going to try and get our role players involved, and we have some guys who can switch and defend tough.

I hate the Warriors with a burning passion. Team of chokers. If they had to lead their own team they would choke it away. But they team up and bully people so they dodge competition. Disgusting.

Who’s the bigger choker?

The choker? Or the man who chokes against him?

I don’t see CP3 wanting to go anywhere. If he hadn’t gotten injured, the Rockets would’ve won the West. I feel this way, but more importantly, I think the Rockets FULLY believe it. They’ll want a shot at redemption.

Now, if there’s a way they can add LeBron without gutting their support staff, things could get interesting. I believe @gourimoko presented a plausible set of scenarios where this could happen.

Worst case as I see it would be the Cavaliers getting wiped off the court by the Warriors in a non-competitive series. That’s when solo superstars act to conspire against an established group of superstars.

Curious to see how we react if Iggy is unavailable.

GS goes:

Looney
Green
KD
Klay
Curry

I think the only way TT starts this series is if Iggy is out.

Assuming Iggy is good to go, I believe Love starts at Center and guards Draymond. And the way Draymond is currently playing, I think that is a win for us.

I am hoping for this. Wish he had done that before.
