2018 NFL SEASON Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Did any NFL team have a worse offseason than the Giants?

They hired one of the worst head coaches in the NFL then opted to pass on two (or three depending on how you feel on Allen) potential franchise QBs in order to use the No. 2 overall pick on a RB.

Oh and their starting QB is 37 years old and has been steadily declining for three years.

What a disaster.

Raiders gotta be right there. Gruden for 100 million and trading Mack...

Well, they've got a good shot at the top pick this year, so they could always get their QB then.

And while I do agree that taking a RB at two is too high, Barkley has pretty much been as advertised, averaging 116 total yards and one touchdown per game through five weeks. I'd have gladly taken him at four if he had fallen that far. Kid is a special talent.

Thankfully, looks like we got our own special talents at both one and four.

Watson needs to learn to prioritize the pass. He’s gotten badly hit twice tonight.

Barkley’s been perfectly fine... and hasn’t done anything for them in the win/loss column.

It was a stupid move even if Barkley was Adrian Peterson 2.0 and he’s not that.

I think he's been better than fine, but outside of QB I don't really think there's a single position in football that does anything for the win/loss column on a week to week basis.

And sure, you can kill the Giants for passing on a QB at two, but perhaps they had Baker at the top of their board and once he was gone they weren't in love with any of the other guys? If they get their QB next year, he'll come in having one of the best receivers in the NFL along with one of the best backs at his disposal.

Like I said, though, I wouldn't have taken Barkley at two. At four I would have considered it, however.

What are the odds the relationship between OBJ and the Giants completely falls apart as the Giants suffer through a 2-14 season?

What would the theoretical price for OBJ be?

That's a tough one. Cooks got traded for a late first two years ago, but he still had a year left on his rookie deal. That's the most recent comparison I can think of, though.

Another similar one was Watkins to the Rams last year for Gaines and a second rounder, although obviously Watkins' value was lower at that point because of all the injuries that he has since gotten over.

If we could trade our 2020 1st for him, though, I'd probably do it simply because the time to do a splash move like that is now while Baker is still on his rookie deal. It'd be one thing if he didn't look as good as he does, but watching him I think you have to consider it.

Wow, was able to watch favre break the passing record.....was able to watch manning break favres record.......

And tonight, we could very well watch brees pass favre and then manning.

Not bad for a guy that was kinda looked over for being 6' tall.

And in 15 years we'll get to see Mayfield break Brees' record.

[Knock on wood]

Well that was pretty damn cool to watch live.

What a career for Drew Brees!!! And come to think we were linked to him once upon a time.

Washington is utter garbage.

I know Brady and probably Manning and Rodgers were better, and I know Brees has his limits, but he may be the most aesthetically pleasing QB I have ever watched.

He reads the field so well, the ball flies out of his hands, you know he is going to make the right decision, etc. It is just special. I love watching him play.
