2018 NFL SEASON Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
One of my good friends is a diehard Giants fan. This off season I kept telling him Shurmur was gonna be trash, that they should either get a QB or trade down, and that they needed to replace Eli. This whole thing was so predictable.
Yep. They were always going to be trash this season when they decided to roll with Eli again.

Barkley just had the best game of his life...and the Giants still got completely annihilated.

That is why you don't take a RB over a franchise QB. Shit, even if he is a guaranteed elite RB. Just not important enough of a position.

Anyone who wanted to draft him #1 overall is still an idiot. And the Giants will always be idiots for drafting him 2nd overall. They damn well better hope they nail the QB pick next year.

I know we have Hue, but goddamn thank goodness we are far and away from a Pat Shurmur.

I mean, are they that far apart? I feel like both are bottom five coaches in the NFL. You're basically just swapping dog shit for cat shit at some point. One might stink a little less, but shit is shit.

Damn't!! I just try to find ways to talk up Hue a little bit

Even then, you waste one of the prime years of your RB, and he's still paid like one of the top RB's in the league. What I find really interesting is that lots of analytics are coming out that a top CB is even more valuable than a top edge player, which might have gone into our selection of Ward. Regardless, it's an awful pick and it's completely indefensible when you could have dropped to 6, gotten 3 2nds, and drafted a guy at a higher value position than Barkley.

I never said Allen is going to be great.

He needed the right situation, to sit and learn.

Barkley is a fucking beast though.
You tagged me in this thread like 2 weeks ago calling me out on Allen after his Vikings game

That kind of ruins your ability for me to take you seriously on these call outs when you try to call me out on Josh Allen

Choose your call outs more wisely in the future

Barkley looking very worth the investment on a 1-5 team that desperately needs a QB to replace Eli. I’m sure there are no regrets at all taking the least valued position at #2

Barkley has played extremely well... and hasn’t made any impact whatsoever on the Giants success this season.

You can have the best running back in the league and it simply doesn’t matter if your QB is trash.

All the Giants have done is basically wasted one of Barkley’s cheap (and I say cheap loosely because he’s one of the highest paid RBs) rookie contract seasons, having him take a year’s worth of hits while playing for an awful team.

God forbid they draft Justin Herbert next year and he has common rookie QB struggles in another meh year.

Now they’ve burned through ANOTHER year of Barkley’s cheap rookie deal and put another season’s worth of hits on the guy in another losing season.

It was a ridiculous misuse of draft capital even if Barkley ends up being the best RB in the NFL.

Couldn’t care less about how the Giants have played.

He’s proved himself worth a top 5 pick.

I will continue to call you out for your godawful takes that you gave me mountains and mountains of shit for. That’s how this works.

If anything he's proven that drafting a RB top 5 is dumb. He has balled and they still suck.

The fuck?

It’s definitely not because of him. Come on what a shit ass take.

Worth every bit of #2 IF you have your QB but the Giants simply don’t right now.

Special ass player.

Doesn't it feel like the NFL is right on its own version of the moneyball era, and the difference between teams that embrace and understand forward thinking and those that don't is just gigantic? I still can't believe it's 2018 and the general football audience is debating whether it was worth it to draft an RB #2 when they could have at least had the #6 and 3 2nd round picks.
