2018 Series #1 | Indians @ Mariners | March 29th, 31st, & April 1st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hoping Olson's '17 season wasn't a flash in the pan, and this team built the bullpen betting on that not being the case. He looked horrible today in all aspects.

Would've been nice to have Bryan Shaw out there tonight.

Should have pinch hit for Naquin. Brantley can't come back soon enough.

Do people really think Brantley is going to be the same player from years ago? I don't see it anymore.

If he can come back with his normal gap power and hit between .275-.285, then he'll be just fine. He was playing good last year until he got hurt.

His ABs were good in spring training. Matter fact his 1st pitch was obliterated into the wind. I think he can still be pretty good and better than what we have. I don't think he's better than Bruce though.

The lineup looks so much different/better just by adding Brantley:

SS-Lindor
2B-Kipnis
3B-Ramirez
LF-Brantley
DH-Encarnacion
1B-Alonso
RF-Chisenhall/Guyer
C-Gomes/Perez
CF-Zimmer/Davis

No, he'll never be an MVP candidate, but he can be good player still.

We'll add a bat and a reliever at the deadline, just as we did last year. There will be plenty of options.

Positives:

  1. EE getting out to a good start so far.
  2. Yonder looking like a solid replacement for the dreadful Carlos Santana.
  3. Bauer showed some decent stuff.

Not-so-goods:

  1. Frankie & Josy have struggled.

It's way way too early to feel bad. We'll be just fine.

Tyler Naquin sucks.

Good to see the offense show up. Put Salazar in the bullpen and maybe the bullpen will sort itself. Still looks like a real good team.

How long does Meijia have to sit out to get another year out of him? Or does that just delay arbitration?

Indians definitely banked on continuing to have that Midas touch with journeyman relievers they’ve had the last 2-3 seasons.

So far McAllister and Goody did their jobs, Otero and Olson did not.

Obviously can’t freak out over one appearance, but non elite relievers can be awfully finicky year-to-year.

He had an .808 OPS last season in the 90 games before injury.

What do you mean a few years ago?

Short of some freak re-injury, the “from what you’ve seen” take doesn’t make any sense.

It's almost like the guy was an All-Star or something last year
