2018 Series #1 | Indians @ Mariners | March 29th, 31st, & April 1st

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
He had an .808 OPS last season in the 90 games before injury.

What do you mean a few years ago?

Short of some freak re-injury, the “from what you’ve seen” take doesn’t make any sense.

He had a high average but he did not hit for any power. Also his defense stunk.

He should not have been an all-star.

Granted he will be a huge step up from Naquin.

Well, yes.

Because he was an All-Star, I'd imagine he will be a huge step up.

He's never been a power hitter, so I'm not sure if you were expecting him to be one.

Even then, he had 9 homers in 338 ABs. For a guy who has hit 20 homers just once, that's right around his career average.

Brantley was actually pretty average defensively last year too. Now that's one thing I don't expect to really see from him again, but I see no reason why he won't continue to be a high avg, high obp player once back and if healthy

1.7 - 2.1 WAR through 90 games is pretty damn solid

He was shitty defensively, but he's been shitty defensively for most of his career, not a big deal. You can hide him in LF, especially in Cleveland.

When he's back in the lineup, he'll do what he's always done for us, hit the ball and create runs.

I was looking at it from a defensive runs saved perspective, where he was +4.

His other defensive stats aren't great but it seemed like only a handful of LFs would considered above average by those metrics.
