2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
If you’re reading this, do not hit the reply button above. I know it’s hard, but it’s worth it to not — I promise.

Also, Oakland snagged Fiers.

It’s already on the last page.

McCutchen is the best fit. He would be 4th on this team in OPS and 3rd in OBP. He'd better in RF but could play CF if needed to give Martin a day off. He's been solid in the postseason, although that was admittedly when he was a bit younger.

S-SS-Lindor
L-LF-Brantley
S-3B-Ramirez
R-DH-Encarnacion
R-RF-McCutchen
L-1B-Alonso
L-2B-Kipnis
R-C-Gomes
L-CF-Martin

All of the sudden, the lineup looks a lot better. You could even consider batting McCutchen higher and moving EE down in the process.
Realllllly hope we get this done.

Absolutely love that lineup and feel it can win the world series. I think they can now, but having Cutch helps move that needle a little more towards us winning it all.

Not sure what it will take, or when we could pull it off. But I'm in for him or even Josh Donaldson. I know AZ mentioned he's broken and can't throw, but I think we could get him to produce here. He's not my first choice, but I'm OK with it for sure.

We added Joe Smith at the last minute last year, are there any relievers that should be on our radar?

Pass on both of them. The only player who will potentially hit the waiver market that does much for me is McCutchen. He makes so much sense for this current club, so let’s hope they can pull it off.
This would be.....awesome.

I keep coming back to this team needing Cutch and hoping they can land him.

Vs Lefties I'd trot out:

Lindor SS
Brantley LF
Ramirez 3B
Encarnicion 1B
McCutchen RF
Guyer DH
Kipnis 2B
Gomes C
Martin CF

I would basically platoon Guyer and Yonder. Guyer is sporting a .950 OPS vs Yonder's .670

My preference would be to have Cutch play CF and keep Yonder in the lineup against LHP rather than Martin. Yonder certainly struggles against southpaws, but not nearly as much as Martin .576 OPS against LHP.)

Gotta hope the Giants keep losing and continue to fall further out of it, they're not a team that really seems to like selling.

Curtis Granderson was another name I was interested in but he's been pretty bad since the start of July.

Maybe the Indians kick the tires again on Adam Jones, but he seems content on mailing it in with Baltimore.

I doubt the Angels are interested in selling since he's not a free agent, but Kole Calhoun would be great. His season numbers are awful because he was arguably the worst player in baseball the first 2 months of the season, but since coming off the DL mid-June he's been a monster. .287 / .357 / .620 with 13 HRs

Corey Dickerson would be nice but doubt the Pirates trade anyone important unless they get a great offer
