2018 Trade Deadline

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I have no desire to see Kipnis in the outfield ever again.

I also have little desire to see Melky out there either.

Donaldson would be great but as of now he's such an unknown. If they're spending I'd prefer it to be on someone reliable, even if Donaldson has a much greater upside.

Donaldson is still hurt? Lol, had him in fantasy and stopped following my trash team 2 months ago. Dude had been hurt forever even then. Glue factory.

Yes. He’s been out since late May with a calf injury.

He’s allegedly close to a return, but who knows when that will actually be.

Sucks Dexter Fowler got hurt.

Call me crazy but, if we could've gotten St. Louis to eat a significant portion of the remaining contract, I would've taken a chance on him this year.

The entire St. Louis organization is full of hardos--- even the players. Fowler was so good in Chicago and when he played for an organization that didn't try to manage every detail of his life and let him personally express himself.

I'd look to revisit this in the offseason. I think he's prime for a bounce back if he lands in the right organization. Oh, and he's not a CF anymore but that doesn't matter since it seems we might need to replace the entire OF next year anyways.

I dunno, Maddon was voted as a manager that players didn’t want to play for.... Maybe there’s something to that ?

LOL

He finished 1st in the vote for manager players most want to play for (27% of vote)

Then he finished 2nd in the vote for manager players don't want to play for (20% of vote)

Weird.

Fowler was a guy who loved Maddon though..... and Tito finished 2nd in the race for manager guys want to play for.

Well we have Martin (arbitration year) and Guyer, under team control and likely Naquin, Allen and Mercado all trying to make the team. Marabell maybe added to the 40 man roster if they think he could do anything in the pros.

I have never liked Fowler overall as a player to be honest. I always felt he was overrated, but if we can get him on a minor league deal I am all for it to be honest. We will bring in a few reclamation projects plus probably a veteran in the OF on a major league deal for the OF, but next year it will be a concern overall.

San Francisco is 6 games back in the West and 7 back in the Wild Card. Dropping the 3 game series upcoming vs. the Dodgers could turn them into sellers. Winning the series could change things as 4 of their next 5 series are vs. the Mets x2, Rangers, and Reds.

The question is who is out there other than McCutchen that we could acquire?

There are 7 teams ahead of them in the wild card race (not to mention the 3 division leaders).

They know they're already sellers. It's just a matter of if they'll actually sell or not.
