2019 Around the MLB

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
The fans would turn on Lindor in a second if he went six months in a string like Jose Ramirez and every positive goodwill earned from resigning him would disappear.

It’s not a strong investment, especially when looking at shortstop contracts around the league. If he’s really asking for that north or $250m then it’s simply not tenable.
Yeah so I don’t think this is going to be a popular take, but I’ve thought a lot about this myself during these discussions of do whatever it takes to keep Lindor

I think it’s a legitimate point that with how this team operates even if Lindor is a perennial all star, taking up 20-25% of the team’s budget with one player may not be the best way for a small market team like the Indians to go

Honestly right now it’s really Brantley that we are missing in that lineup! Also his experience and knowledge to have around Jose may have been one of the best things for him. Though the HRs from Diaz is a little surprising!

It's an incredibly small sample size, so take everything here with a grain of salt.

I'm glad to see Cody's doing well, but man are his stats scary. His K% is the lowest it's ever been and so is his Ground Ball %. His BABIP is .000. If these advanced metrics hold, he's going to have a season that's even worse than last year. I hope he can find himself, but it's not looking good.

Sucks that Miller and Tomlin look cooked. Always liked them both.

Brantley's doing Brantley things. At the end of the day, he didn't want to be here. Can't hold that against the organization.

Edwin's numbers look good, but everyone in that Seattle lineup is mashing. We know he's not going to suddenly improve (barring PED's). He is what he is, plus some aging deterioration.

I miss Yan Gomes. Out of all the moves this offseason, that's the one that sticks with me. The guy was loved by our pitching staff behind the plate, was an ace at throwing out baserunners, and he was a very good hitting catcher. All on a reasonable contract.

Yandy's improved power is surprising. I hope the guy can keep it up. If so, he's going to be a special hitter.

The only guy out of the rest that's surprising is Donaldson. I thought he was going to bounce back.

How's Mejia doing in SD?

Forgot about him. .190 / .227 / .286

He is currently the reserve catcher for San Diego

Becoming pretty obvious that Tito is someone capable of absolutely cooking relievers or fringe starters who swing between the rotation and bullpen.

Miller, Shaw, McAllister, Tomlin

Won't count Allen, not sure his innings count or role was really ever changed here.

Marwin Gonzales who many here were clamoring for i really tearing it up. .154 BA

Clint Frazier playing well for the Yanks. .300 4hr 11 rbi. Don’t know that anyone would redo the Miller trade but would love having him back.

Players will always eventually adjust to whatever people are throwing. If you are throwing harder then the guys who can hit those harder pitches will be the guys who stay in the league.

Kluber is zigging while all these idiots are zagging

Yandy Diaz actually hit another HR, putting him up to 5 this season, he had 26 since 2014 in the minor! His ratio of fly ball to ground ball is up this season as well. I don't think he is a true power threat, but he is a heck of a hitter.
