2019 Around the MLB

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
From the article:

"Under the plan, the Rays would play in new stadiums in both the Tampa Bay area and Montreal, according to sources."

Are these sources the wishful / delusional owners of the Rays?
Like, there's a 100% chance that plan ends with them getting a taxpayer funded stadium in Tampa and then just bailing to Montreal permanently.

Right. What happens when games in Montreal are bringing in 3 times the fans and revenue than Tampa Bay?

Still not a fan of it, but in theory it would work better with 2 cities with a similar support level. No reason to believe Tampa Bay support is going to get any better.

If anything, it would likely get worse, if that's even possible :chuckle:

I can't imagine the apathy I'd feel if the team in my town played less than two months of their six month season there.

Yeah, so under this scenario they'd miss the games down the stretch. Tampa is currently set to host the Wild Card game. Which city would get it? How would that work for the playoffs, or even a Game 7 World Series?

Back to Tampa, since it'll be warmer there in October! :chuckle:

Think about how shitty it would be for a player to split his time between two cities, one of them international.

Dragging families through that process, entering customs every time you play in Montreal.

I wish your rankings were the way the voting was actually going right now. As of a couple days ago i looked and Gleyber Torres was 3rd at SS and Frankie was 5th. Gio Urshela was second at 3rd base behind only Bregman. I know this is how it always goes with these big cities but still, it sucks! You would still think that even NYY fans would be respectful enough of the game enough to have Lindor ranked above Gleyber fucking Torres.

My rankings are still a bit biased towards Cleveland players and away from markets I can't stand (New York, Houston, Chicago, etc.), but I tried to be as fair as possible.

I honestly didnt think they were that Indians biased. Santana and Voit are kind of toss up to me. Frankie is the best ss in the AL. You had Perez 3rd. Seemed pretty fair to me.

I'm sure the MLBPA will be totally okay with this :chuckle:

I'd be shocked if this ever gets off the ground.
