Thanks for pointing out Silver's history.
I also didn't see the Baker tweet--I thought the conversation was a bit of an overreaction to the Monken "story"
I mean... we see a story trying to create turmoil. “Freddie Kitchens more involved in offensive room than Monken thought.”
I mean, Freddie told Todd upfront that he was calling the plays. Monken understood that and still signed on because he wanted to contribute. You think he’s going to call the plays but not be involved with the offense? Monken has made multiple comments about collaboration in the offensive room and expressing that he enjoys working with Freddie.
The story doesn’t even make sense. Complete swing and miss. Silver is just fishing in an unstocked pond.
The Baker stuff about veterans mad at him based on commenting on Duke’s contract situation....
Also an out and out lie. Duke was extended last offseason to his big payday.
This wasn’t about money. This was about Duke being a sensitive baby. Mayfield simply said that he hopes he does his job. That’s it. Nothing wrong with that; it’s true.
Wouldn’t be shocked if Baker was a little pissed that Duke requested a trade from a winner and strategically let the “self-inflicted” bit out so the media would make a frenzy.
Now, he goes to Duke, talks about the media making a controversy, they’re all good and—again—the team unites against the world. Baker loves this shit.
It’s all good.
Knowing how Baker works, they want these types of stories posted. They love external hatred. It galvanizes the group.
The Browns were getting too much love for my liking. I’m glad to get a lot of hate for Baker to file away.
