2019 Browns Off Season/Roster Discussion

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Any kickers out there we should look at?

Part of being a good football team is having a good reliable kicker.

Los mentioned Crosby before, if he's like the only vet worth it then he's better than Joseph.
I believe Justin Tucker has an out in his contract. We could just throw stupid kicker money at him.

As much as I would love Tucker, i doubt Baltimore lets him go. So easy to franchise tag a kicker, especially Tucker who deserves top money not the average of the top 3 so franchise tagging him would be a bargain.

Joseph did good on field goals, 17-20, but he missed 4 XP's which is not acceptable. I would say 2 is acceptable but any more is bad. That said he was an upgrade and now will be harder to upgrade from him. Maybe a year will help him improve, he was a rookie.

Problem with Joseph is did he even make a 50+ yard FG? I can't recall. I just don't consider him reliable, he's shaky...

4-4 from 20-29
7-7 from 30-39
5-7 from 40-49
1-2 from 50+
17-20 overall

Made a 51 yarder against the Chiefs. Three misses this year were from 41, 46 and 55.

Also missed 3 XPs.

17-20 looks good on paper, but I just can't get behind him being the kicker we have to depend on when Baker is leading a late drive. Idk, maybe it's just me.

I know that he’s been franchised at least once before. Thus, that price continues to rise. Also, last time, things got very ugly between Tucker and the Ravens.

I would let him name his price. He’s the difference between winning and losing games in the postseason.

Is the out in his contract for him or the Ravens? Who makes the call?

I can't seem to find the details clarified anywhere.

I’ll see if I can’t find more details on that, but I imagine it’s him after all the back and forth last time. He was pretty upset but bit the bullet for the team.

Situationally, he missed some big kicks, as well. The one that comes to mind is the critical XP against Carolina that would have pushed us to a 7 point lead instead of 6.

I know someone who didn't miss an XP all season....

I apologize, I was recalling incorrectly. @CBBI is correct.

Tucker is under contract for 2019 for $5,146,668.

The Ravens could release him and save 3.05M dollars, but I wouldn't imagine that's on the table.

If there's 2 old Browns I miss the most, it's Phil Dawson and Josh Cribbs. Now i know the return game has changed tenfold since Cribbs and Dante Hall was dominating it, but he gave full blown effort and made sure we were going to win the ST's game. Also never forget Cribbs dominating the Steelers in wildcat fashion.

Not to mention kicking FGs and returning punts/kicks was a weakness last season. Matter fact our kicking situation hasn't been good since Dawson.

Agreed and I still think Cribbs would excel in today's NFL special teams - the guy had quickness, great vision, and he was just hard to bring down.
