2019 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hope he does well. I'm just not gambling on him in the top 10. Maybe that's why I'm not running an NFL franchise :conf (11):

@blommen For what it's worth, watched some film now as I'm waiting for the draft. I'm slightly higher on Burns (not completely sold) but I think the Fowler/Jordan/Mingo of this draft is Rashan Gary.

Burns actually kinda reminds me of Randy Gregory... not sure that's a good thing though. I don't think he's done much in Dallas.

Who you guys like at 49 after seeing who is still available? In no order, I wouldn't mind seeing any of these guys in Orange and Brown...

Byron Murphy
Greedy Williams
Rock Ya Sin
Jawan Taylor
Cody Ford
Dremont Jones
Chase Winovich

Tackle is obviously a need. Why is Jawaan Taylor falling?
Can't go wrong with DL. Dorsey likes DT's that penetrate. Dre'Mont might be a possibility. Trysten Hill from UCF is a player to watch. Not too familiar with edge guys still available.
Tons of corners. Murphy, Greedy, Layne, Rock, Isaiah Johnson, Lonnie Johnson, Orawuriya

Corner or Tackle. I'm curious if Duke gets moved during the draft

Wild Prediction #1: Browns love the way this draft unfolded, don't trade up at all, and draft a future Pro Bowler in #49 anyway. Dorsey has to feel like these GM people around him who aren't Browns staff are total idiots.

Wild Prediction #2: Rams are trading down and around because they like DreMont Jones and want to get good value for him since he slid. Perfect match with what they want to do on the interior with Aaron Donald.

Wild Prediction #3: Teams that targeted players they really like in round one switch to BPA in round two, which will shift the disturbing trend of value attrition.

Pretty sure I read somewhere that Taylor’s knew is in bad shape or something along those lines.

I like Williams, Ya Sin and Winovich the most of the names you listed.

Taylor I would have had on my list, but the fact he fell completely out of the first round must mean he’s screwed medically or else he wouldn’t be available. I just wouldn’t risk it.

Murphy has a spectacular grade from PFF (their No. 6 overall prospect) and was wildly productive, I just worry about his lack of size, speed and athleticism.

A few other names I like.

At 49
Justin Layne
Juan Thornhill
Julian Love
Nassir Adderly

At 80
Chauncey Gardner-Johnson
Zach Allen
Max Scharping
Charles Omenihu

Browns need defensive backs, and they fell in round one. Couldn't have gone more smoothly for our front office, which is really a collection of 3-4 GM worthy hard asses with a chip on their shoulder after Green Bay did them dirty.

Day two of the draft could very well be a Game of Thrones type experience for the Browns. Dragons, assassins with fake faces, nightwalkers, the whole fucking nine.

I woukd not hate thornhill at 48

For me I keep thinking of Jason Taylor. Very similar size and weight, similar physical gifts. Now, Taylor had much better ball skills and the fact that he was such an outlier at the position back then makes it hard how he would look in todays league, but the speed, the technique, the length, the ability to drop back in coverage, those are all aspects that I think they both have. I'm not gonna sit here and say that Brian Burns is going to turn into a first ballot HOF'er and DPOY, but I think if you try to figure out his ceilling that's the comp that fits the best.

Chiefs got to be pretty happy too with how the 1st round went. Most people we wanted still available. Chiefs need a corner, LB, and now WR. Really good options available but we would likely have to trade up for prime targets.

But knowing how Dorsey thinks, he will probably take the Chiefs favorite prospects :chuckle:

So Dorseradish tried to trade up into the first round three times and failed. I wonder who he was trying to grab? Says all three are gone.

Very, very glad Dorsey stayed away from instant gratification and didn't overpay. You build long-lasting franchises by having a continuous stream of young talent entering the team, because enables you to let go of higher salaried players at non-critical positions. You do that by getting good value in the later rounds, which means have lots of picks.

Guys from my top 100 Big Board still left in order:

Cody Ford
CGJ
Adderly
Byron Murphy
Erik McCoy
AJ Brown
Dalton Risner
DK Metcalf
Juan Thornhill
Justin Layne
Greedy Williams
Deebo Samuel
Yodney Cajuste
Chase Winovich
Julian Love
Parris Campbell

Just to name a few.

Also, looking back at my big board:

I had Dexter Lawerence at 48
Kaleb McGary at 77
David Jones unranked :falloff:
