2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Bobby Bradley with his 9th HR of the season today. Nice to see him have a bounce back season and restore some of his prospect status. .892 OPS

Daniel Johnson with his 10th HR of the year tonight. .901 OPS. I think a couple of organizations would send him to the bigs straight from AA but I doubt the Indians will. The tools sure are loud.

Ernie Clement is finally healthy and starting to heat up at the dish (2-4 tonight). I don't know where you put him defensively because our middle infield is pretty well set and he doesn't really profile in a corner but his approach and skill set at this dish is kinda like Michael Brantley-lite so he can probably play anywhere-- certainly athletic enough to play anywhere. Had a great Spring Training. He can really play.

Oscar Gonzalez with his 4th HR of the year. About as high risk of a prospect out there with his lack of plate discipline but the tools are legit. He's made himself into a legit prospect this year despite being high risk.

3 H, 0 ER and 6 K's in 6.2 IP for Eli Morgan. 1.79 ERA in 50.2 IP this year with 60 K's.

How did we trade Gomes (.231 2hr .3 war) for their #7 prospect Johnson, Rodriguez and Monasterio? Highway robbery.

Plesac in 2019:

AAA

Because they’re not great of an organization.

Zach Plesac, RHP, Indians

The nephew of former pitcher and current MLB Network analyst Dan Plesac turned evaluators’ heads at Double-A Akron to start of the year and is continuing to do so at Triple-A Columbus. Plesac fired six scoreless innings with seven strikeouts in his first Triple-A start on May 11, and he followed up with seven strong innings and nine punchouts on Sunday. Plesac, 24, had Tommy John surgery two months before the 2016 draft and was selected in the 12th round by the Indians. His stuff has come back in full force, sitting 93-95 mph and touching 96 mph on his fastball with an above-average changeup and an average curveball with downer action and good depth. With three quality pitches at his disposal and excellent control (career 2.1 BB/9), Plesac is another good-looking arm the Indians have in their trove of pitching.

2-4 for Tyler Freeman. .923 OPS

2 HR's for Will Benson (11 and 12 on the year for him)

Bo Naylor is starting to heat up. 2 more hits for him today.

1-3 w/ 2 walks for Nolan Jones. Walk off single.

2 more hits for Oscar Gonzalez. He has .365 average on the year.

2-4 w/ 2 walks for Ernie Clement.

2 IP, 5 K's for Nick Sandlin

Bobby Bradley with another HR (3rd game in a row with a HR)

I also heard RHP Carlos Vargas has been consistently hitting 100+ mph in Extended Spring.

1st video was today. 2nd was AZL ball his 1st summer as a pro.

The amount of work this kid has put into his swing since becoming a pro is awesome to see. Some of the craziest physical gifts I have ever seen, all about everything coming together for him.

Tied for 1st in the league with 12 HR and is 2nd in the league with 14 steals (15 attempts). Pretty crazy for a 20 year old. Keep it going

Final update:

Johnson promoted to Columbus

Nailed it.

Oscar Gonzalez is taking his spot in Akron.

That's a really aggressive move.

Have to think Benson goes to Lynchburg now too.

Well Gonzalez has been killing the ball, lets see if he can handle AA!
