2019 Minor League Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Junior Sanquintin hit his 2nd HR in the DSL today.

Has a decent 1.628 OPS over his first 4 MiLB games.

He's another big big time guy.

Sanquintin, G. Rodriguez, Valera, Rocchio, Freeman, Jones.

Fucking. Loaded.

....and four of the six are SS

Also watch for Angel Martinez in the DSL. Really impressive this spring in AZ.

If he grows like his brother did, he could be "big big time" as well. Good bloodlines and already an advanced hitter.

Jake Bauers and his -0.8 WAR should be discussed if he's improving in the future in this thread.

Well, he’s the youngest player on the team.

Odds are he’s not done improving, but he’s also not doing well right now. Looks rather overmatched in his approach.

Do these guys have any potential secondary positions? It's awesome that we're that loaded at short, but if they all end up panning out in a good way, is it possible to stick any of them at third or second, or are they mostly locked at short?

Oh yeah

Rocchio is the best defender at SS and most likely to stick there I’d think.

Freeman or Sanquintin are probably 2B. If they both pan out, I could see the other in a corner OF. The bats will play anywhere.

Rodriguez is probably a 3B long term.

Hell, even Valera is playing CF right now and he’s likely to settle in a corner OF spot.

Mentioned watching Ruben Cardenas closer in here early on. Only thing that was missing for him was some pop.

.301/.347/.510 slash line, 9 2Bs, 4 3Bs, 8 HRs. They really like his bat/approach. Young for a 3 year college player who is in his 2nd pro season too (doesn't turn 22 until after the season).

Gabriel Rodriguez at 3B in the DSL

I just noticed going through the minor league things, that Andrew Calica, who was a decent prospect overall, decided to retire this season. It doesn't say really why anywhere, but its still a bit surprising to see. Also the Catcher, Salters also decided to retire as well.

That is a big ass roster. And 6-3 Henry Pujols will be back down once Berardi gets healthy for Lake County.
