2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Fuck this shit. Even more irritated that the Lakers, Knicks and Pelicans are in top 4. Grizzlies, whatever.

Trade the fifth overall away for a star.
You are in pure fantasy land if you think someone is trading you an all star in their prime so they can draft 5th in this years draft.
Better buckle in this is going to be a long long rebuild, there is no Lebron in his prime coming to save the day this time.

Rigged to facilitate an Anthony Davis trade to LA to bump up the dying TV ratings, why don’t they just do the ping pong part live?

As much praise Griff might get in the coming weeks, he really screwed us with the protections on the draft pick. I think we won't see top 10 protected now.

We might be tanking hard next year because 3 teams jumped up tonight. Now we can't risk being at #7 or #8 in odd and risk losing the pick. People say it couldn't happen before will now realize that Griff only putting top 10 protection really held us back another year.
After results last night tankibg doesnt seem to matter much. Need to retire the term

Big guys with injury problems, especially when Bol's father had a lot of the same problems, are a big no for me.

Bol would be one of those guys who would create some great mismatches and win you some games. I also think he'd be unplayable against certain teams, which would be a non-starter if you're looking for a cornerstone piece of a franchise.

We have the 5th pick. Why take a developmental big with a significant injury. Would not touch him

I think 5 lines up pretty nicely for a trade down. Garland seems like the player that teams will want to get ahead of Phoenix for. Possibly White too but I think he’s incredibly overrated by the media. I have yet to see anyone I know connected to scouting mention him as a guy they like. He’s also a terrible fit with Sexton.

If you stay at 5, I think the pick is one of Culver, Bol, Goga or Hayes. Hayes is the riskiest player of that group but he is a home run swing given his frame and athleticism.

My preference at 5 is probably Culver, then Bol. After watching his (Culver’s) tape a bit more and listening to people I respect in the scouting world. He seems to have a range of positive outcomes, even if his ceiling is a bit lower than the other 3 in that group above. Beilein also spent extended scouting time on him, with the head to head game and should have some supportive evaluations for our scouts.

I would really like to see AD stay in NO now so we can trade Love to LA for the #4 pick. This would help jumpstart the rebuild and losing Love also makes us worse next season which positions us for a better 2020 pick.

If Love isn't enough to get us the #4 pick we can also throw in our late 1st.

I wouldn't hate a trade down, but the only team in the top ten I could see trading up is the Bulls. Do we really want to hand over the keys to Garland to a divisional rival? Do we really want to play against him for the next 4-5 years 4x a year?

I'm cool at just staying at 5 and taking BPA. If somehow Culver falls to 5, I'm excited for the future with Cedi and Culver as our wings players. In fact, I think a Sexton-Culver-Cedi trio could be pretty damn good in the future.

I would agree with this. I can't see us getting better value below 5 and doubt anyone would do a trade up ala Dallas/ATL last season.
Culver (or Reddish) sounds like something I can deal with after missing out on top 3. A(nother) facilitating wing would be nice. Since Sexton's strengths seem to be more the CJ McCollum type

IMO Cavs don't have a choice but to take BPA regardless of position.
They need talent, no matter what.

We're pretty far away is my answer to everything.

The Bulls have a solid core and some interesting pieces.....they're going to potentially compete 3-4 years before we will.

It's not ideal to trade in division but for an additional asset, I think you just have to focus on what is the best way to rebuild your own team.

Drop from 5 to 7, let them take Garland, pick up a free asset and likely still get the guy you wanted at 5, at 7.

I personally think Culver would still be there at #7 if he is there at #5, if your assumption is the Bulls want Garland. I think someone like Hunter is more attractive to LAL at #4......just a plug and play shooter around LeBron. Phoenix seems like a landing spot of the left over Garland / White duo.....so I don't see any value difference for the Cavs dropping 2 spots, given the fit / needs of the two teams picking ahead of them in this scenario.

If L.A. keeps that pick, I think you're correct. I just think they're going to try like hell to move it for an asset that better lines up with LBJ's window.

I never watched Culver play, but at least from the descriptions of him I've read, he seems like he'd be a great fit with Sexton.

I still think you guys are overlooking Reddish. There's plenty of stats out there to show that Reddish was the only legitimate shooter on Duke's squad this year, which made him easy to defend. Cheat his side and make him put it on the floor.

NBA is all about spacing and shooting. Sexton's shot improved drastically and Love is a fantastic 3 point shooter for a forward. Reddish can thrive and develop in an offense that has several shooters around him.

Beilein is absolutely fantastic at developing his wings and runs an offense that definitely would benefit Reddish. If Beilein truly has a say in this pick, and he's drafting guys based on potential 2-3 years from now, I wouldn't be shocked one bit if Reddish is the pick...... and I'd be perfectly fine with it.

I think we will tank next year not because of odds but to make sure we retain our pick. I just don't see how the front office or ownership would be comfortable letting the team play into the #7-#10 range and have some bad luck to lose the pick to the Hawks.

I also think teams will still tank because they will want to secure the highest pick in a worst case scenario. I do think it will change certain teams from tanking like the Suns who held back their young talent by not having a PG. Bad teams without much talent will still tank.

Reddish is a player that will probably regain his draft stock in work outs and the combine. He was the number 1 or 2 prospect out of high school who was asked to play off the ball for the first time because of the other talent around him. His pick and roll numbers are real good.

The way I see it he is a player that was asked to change his game in his first year of college where most high lotto picks tend to be asked to learn to play off the ball their first year in the NBA. He already knows what he needs to work on going forward.

The more I look at the group that will most likely end up #4-#10, they all have potential and faults but the gap isn't that big between them. I'm now hoping the Hawks fall in love with someone and want to trade up, giving us #8 and #10 for #5. I would rather take two shots at this group than one higher one.
