2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Hes closer to a shorter thicker (Not fat just a ball of muscle) Blake Griffin then LeBron James. If he develops the same way Blake did I am unsure how successful he will be in the NBA with his size. Hes gonna be a 20-10 player but hes never gonna be a LeBron level guy in my opinion. Blake has been fun to watch his entire career but was never a true franchise player.
Well he’s gonna be better defensively than Blake, and honestly I think you are undervaluing Griffin a lot. He developed from being a pure, raw athlete to having a decent 3 pt shot, great passing, and good defense and rebounding. He’s definitely a franchise player, and if Zion can get to the stage Blake is at now at an earlier age, he’d be an all star for a decade at least and a potential hall of famer easily. Only one player in NBA history compares to Lebron, so Zion being a tier below that is pretty damn good.

Would you trade the 5th pick for Jaylen Brown?

I wouldn’t.

5th pick DeAndre Hunter 26th pick Dylan Windler JR and Kevin Love on the block

So we take 2 3 and D guys and still have noone to create offense. Sound strategy. We need at least one secondary play maker since Sexton is not advanced at creating for others yet.

The sudden overrating of Garland is cringe material

It's pretty crazy how people's perception of him has gone up so much in the last week or two. We still only have just those handful of games of video of him and some word of private workouts.

The hype is most frustrating now because it's apparently a 4 player top level draft and we're OBVIOUSLY drafting at 5.

Here’s the thing though.

1. There is no such thing as a four player draft. Pretty much every draft from 2008-2013(the drafts were the players are now in their primes) has had 6-7 players who at minimum qualify as all stars or very high level role players.

2. In none of those drafts were the top4 picks the best four players as they entered their primes.

The Cavs will very likely have an opportunity to draft a player who either becomes either an All NBA player or an All Star. The question is not whether that player is there at 5, it’s whether we identify the correct player(regardless of perceived draft position), select and develop him.

Dude, you know what I'm saying though. We're falling right outside of the hype on this one. Which has been our post Kyrie draft luck. We've had pretty shit luck when there hasn't been an obvious choice.

We are prototypically in a situation where we should trade down and draft for ceiling and potential. Out of arguably the top five or six guys in the NBA right now, half of them are not lottery picks -- Kawhi at 15, Giannis at 15, Jokic at 41. Jimmy Butler picked at 30. etc. When is the last time the Cavs hit on a guy like that? Time to trade down and have Koby and the rest show they can actually spot talent.

Who are those guys in this draft?
