2019 NBA Draft

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Don't think so, I think he goes top 10. The guy I expect to fall is Kevin Porter Jr because of injury and character concerns

Yeah, at the time of my post he had started off the game 0/3, he managed to turn it around and have a pretty good game though. Agree he goes top-10 if the draft is today, but he needs to get back to playing how he was at the start of the season to really lock up a mid/high lottery spot.

Aside from Porter Jr I really like the idea of Charles Bassey with the Rockets pick if he comes out. I like his potential as a stretch big, seems to only take good shots for the most part, rebounds well, has done a good job on d and with rim protection.

Yeah, but you never know. Luckily he isn't a freshman so it might hurt his stock.
You do have that Bucks first rounder if you want to target a player in the mid to low teens if you think it is really worth it. Too early to tell if a player is worth doing that, but at least it is possible.

Add Jalen Pickett to the list of elite PG prospects in next year's draft. What a monster.

EDIT: 3rd OT lol...Pickett with 41 points and 13 assists, dueling against senior Cameron Young who's got 50 points and 9 boards. Absurd.

EDIT2: Young wins the duel, finishing with a 55-point double double. Pickett ended up with a modest 46.

EDIT3: That's the highest scoring points-assists double double *and* the highest scoring points-rebounds double double in the last 10 years, in the same game.

I'm trying to think of a draft that had this many possible lottery PG's in it?

If you add Pickett to that running list, what are we at now? 8?

Maledon, Anthony, Hayes, Dosunmu, Mannion, Maxey, James, Pickett

There's so many I am losing track....am I forgetting someone? Just another reason why I'm not as high on taking Morant. Let Sexton have another year and overdraft next if you want to replace him.

I think Givony has an early big board where 11 of the top 22 are PG's or combo's (2) who can likley play PG at the next level. 2020 is certainly a year where playoff teams are going to have the chance to add an unusually talented guard to their roster, compared to a typical year.

I kind of root for Dosunmu to unexpectedly come out this year and be there at the Rockets pick. He would be a really nice interchangeable piece with Sexton....and he has the size to play the 2.

Barrett looked really good last night.

RJ has slowly become more efficient as the year has drug on. His USG has pulled down in conference play but his offensive numbers are pretty much unchanged.

He's shot 37% from 3 on 80 3PT attempts in ACC play......when coupled with his point forward numbers, is far more exciting projecting him forward. His FT% is still a concern but it has at least lifted to 74.6% in conference play, on 70 attempts. Still smaller sample sizes but showing improvement.

Looking at his numbers.....he is likely going to be the first Freshman or Sophomore in NCAA history to average 20/7/3.......and he is currently at 4 assists per game, which makes it even more impressive. Only one freshman has ever even averaged 20/6/3 from what I see......that was Michael Redd.

Could probably add Kira Lewis and Haliburton (assuming he returns). LaMelo Ball too, though he's obviously polarizing. Stacked. Could definitely do worse than Dosunmu with the Rockets' pick, and he'd do well to declare this year IMO. Not the kind of prospect who's going to stand out in a crowd.

Noticed that Hayes notched a career-high 17 points the other day in French League. Maledon's been solid all year, playing a very significant role on league-leading Lyon-Villeurbanne. Notably, Tony Parker bought the club a few years ago, and if he retires this year he could very well take on an active mentorship role for Maledon as soon as this summer.

I think Dosunmu is an interesting hedge prospect with Sexton.

If he is a legit 6'4"/6'5" with length, he has shown enough shooting potential to play the 2. And he's a far better defensive prospect than Sexton, allowing you to slide him to the 1 in defensive crunch time....or merely use him as the tool to hide Sexton at the 1, 2 or 3 on defense (on a possession by possession basis).

Dosunmu would also give you a secondary playmaker on offense, to mix in and remove some of the wasted possessions Sexton produces. If Sexton falls on his face in year 2, Dosunmu gives you draft flexibility moving forward. Leave him as a playmaking 2 if you like one of the PG's, or slide him in to the lead guard spot if you don't.

Dosunmu is raw and he's a year(s) project.....but his ceiling is nice for a 20 something pick. I think he should remain in school, even at the risk of next years' draft class but it wouldn't shock me if he did decide to come out. I probably like him more than most because of the hedge fit with Colin.....if you believe Sexton has a washout chance at the end of next year.

I expect Ayo to come out this year. I think ESPN mocked him in the 20s last week IIRC.

Also I think he’s more of a 2 guard and a primary. Honestly think he’d be a nice fit next to Sexton, and could provide some insurance for him too like imwithdan said.

I buy the fit, but I'm not sure I see the high ceiling. Seems like more of a high floor guy? He's good at a lot of things, but I don't see top-tier potential in any part of his game.
