2019 NFL offseason thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'm getting more conflicted on the Tyreek thing. Mostly because I don't know what to believe. His fiance is seeming like the more psycho one at this point trying to set him up.

I don't know man. Whatever happens, happens at this point. As long as the kid is for sure safe.

I question the Clark deal more now because if Clark makes one bad move, he has eyes on him ready.

And most importantly above all, hopefully the child gets saved now from the more potential abuse he would have accumulated over his childhood.

Sad to say the "one bad move" problem for every high-risk player has hung over the franchise since Jovan Belcher. I really feel for his girlfriend's family and their kid (and Romeo, who had to see him blow his brains out. )

lmao

His attorneys must think the general public is full of fucking idiots, especially when we know how he spoke on that voicemail.

I may seem biased, but that was the worst thing that gets focused on out of the audio. And he said that out of anger. I don't want to judge everyone on every thing they have said out of anger even if it is wrong. But in the audio, he never admitted to anything and she was trying to set him up the whole time.

I admit those specific texts do seem fishy. But they have a whole log of texts that they said he never attacked her in once.

I don't know all the evidence. I would assume he does discipline his kid too harshly but I don't know the reality of the severity or how much it was exaggerated. Because it's also clear his fiance has problems.

It isn't right, but my guess is his fiance is trying to exaggerate some things to get him in trouble because they clearly have a toxic relationship. That kid probably needs help either way so it's good it was brought to light, but I don't think it was as bad as it was portrayed.

It’s very clear that they are both mentally unstable. These abuse allegations, someone hit the kid obviously, the voicemails and now these calm texts. The kid needs taken away immediately.

Whether he is forcing her to fall on the sword by threatening her or conveying to her that the money is going to dry up if she doesn’t...this is chilling and disturbing.

If you want to lose faith in humanity, read the chiefsplanet posts on this whole saga...

I had read there a bit in the past because when both teams were bad, they were sort of a biggest non-division rival, much as they are now.

As someone who believes in a "trust but verify" healthy skepticism towards the press, and also will be holding my nose whenever Kareem Hunt takes the field despite the lesser severity of his crimes, the comments dragging Brooke Pryor and essentially demanding an omerta attitude by the local press towards the team are scary.

Stolen from reddit:

Tyreek: "Cherished Crystal. Thou knowest I had rather a thousand ruffians accost me than I harm the babe. The wheels of injustice turn unabated."

Crystal:"Forsooth, my dove. I alone bear the blame and the shame. Oh, unrequited affection didst cause my retort."

I agree that her "confession" in that text sounds fishy -- like she was trying to be as absolutely clear as possible that she bore all the guilt. The tone isn't credible. But that being said, the prosecutor has to prove guilt beyond a reasonable doubt, and that seems really tough at this point.

Personally, I think he's more likely than not guilty party because that is (by far) the scenario that best explains why they are still together. Because if she was truly the one who broke the kids arm, why would he stay with the psycho who broke his son's arm? He's the guy with the money, not her, and she likely would lose custody so he wouldn't owe her any support. But she has a clear motivation to stay with him even if he broke the kids arm. $$$.

But I don't think that's enough to get to beyond a reasonable doubt. Not unless she turns on him fully and can show that those text messages were likely fake.

Yeah, as long as his wife is willing to take the fall for it, there's not a lot anyone can do. Seems like she came to the realization that being rich and married to a scumbag is better than the alternative.

That kid should absolutely be taken away from both of them, though.

That poor kid is with stuck with a mom and dad swho either 1) broke his arm as "discipline", or 2) were perfectly willing to cover for the parent that broke it.

Kinda sounds like Gase won a power struggle with the GM according to some tidbits but it doesn’t seem verified. Either way, it sounds like a shitty situation and bad dynamic.
