I know everyone is talking about Naquin and Stamments for example but let’s not forget Perez is in this lineup still. Not sure why they thought he was a starting catcher after these years of watching him

Because he’s among the best defensive players in all of baseball.

I went to the Clippers opener tonight - they started Chang at SS, Maybin in LF, Mercado in CF, and CarGo in RF. Mercado and CarGo both went 2-4 while Maybin went 2-5, including a laser that just missed getting out. Chang was 0-3 with two walks.

I don’t have an issue with Pérez in the lineup. Most catchers are terrible at hitting. Issue is he’s surrounded by garbage as well.
