2019 Spring Training

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Needless to say that it's awfully early, but I wouldn't be surprised to see Trayce Thompson break camp with the team if he continues to barrel up balls like he has recently including a double today that had an exit velocity of 112 mph. I was under the impression that Jordan Luplow would essentially be handed a spot on the roster, but he hasn't been too impressive so far and still has a minor league option remaining unlike Trayce.

Trayce though is on a minor league invite, so he doesnt have a spot on the 40 man roster. Luplow actually seems to be by scouts higher rated than he is playing so it is hard to say, but at the moment he is losing the spot on the roster. Still early so there is time to fix the issue, but Thompson is showing up to make this roster.

Joyce finally got a hit, while Luplow is still struggling. Allen is still looking strong (it will be hard not to give him an everyday spot). Bieber has been looking strong today as well!

Would love to see him make the team from the start. 3 hits today with a home run and 3 RBI's. (not to mention RH)

I think they want him to get everyday at bats and being a CF, more than likely because of Martin, he will be at AAA. Most people though aren't disagreeing with you in the fact he does deserve a chance to make this teams out of camp! Seems like the trade last year to acquire him was a smart move!

Chang optioned to Triple A

Makes me feel like Flaherty and Moroff have the starting SS and utility spot.

Today’s lineup 3-11 may end up being our opening day lineup!

CF Martin-2B Kipnis-3B Ramirez-1B Santana-DH Hanley-LF Bauers-RF Naquin-C Perez-SS Flaherty

Buster Olney predicted Lindor to be in the opening day lineup.

Indians won’t announce it publicly (being vague with injuries will be a common thing now after the Brantley situation), but Lindor is very close.

He’s running, hitting, fielding, taking some live BP on the back fields, etc. Still some things to work out, but he’s close.

Didn't see it posted but The Athletic had a decent article with Trevor Bauer that covered a variety of topics posted today. Basically touched on him starting Momentum his video media company and how baseball has to do more to appeal to the younger generations and how he trying to help that with his company. Bauer is obviously a polarizing guy but he isn't wrong in this situation, here was a mic up video they had posted with the article.

The biggest question is how many ABs do you want him to get before the season starts? I am not against a 10 day DL stint so he can get the correct number of ABs but this is good news since he will be back sometime in April at latest

He’s a player the Indians put in the lineup on Opening Day with 0 official Spring Training ABs. He’s too talented for that, and this injury didn’t leave him immobile or inactive.

Besides, 95% of the ABs guys get in the spring come from games you don’t know are taking place against pitchers you probably have never and will never hear about.

Are we sure Lindor makes the roster? I mean it is an open competition in spring training.
