2020 Draft Prospects Thread

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
Man am I glad I don’t have to invest much time in this QB class.

Fromm has never impressed me in the least. He’s an OK college QB.

Tua does not impress me either, certainly not more than the absurd stable of receivers Alabama has.

Herbert is good, but he is absolutely a project regardless of his experience.

Should be a really fun WR and RB draft, though. I've already got three first rounders in my money dynasty league and am gonna gun for one or two more by the end of the season.

Man, I can't tell you how happy I am that there won't be too much discussion on how badly Cleveland needs Tua in 2020.

Should be a third round pick based on his play to this point, don't @ me.

Major improvements needed.

Also glad that we don't have to have the months long discussion again about RB in the 1st round or not.

I agree. I don't see the fascination with this kid, maybe a late first, but we will see how he looks this year. I don't see good arm strength there. I don't have a problem with his size, I just fear he wont be able to make some of the tougher throws at the next level, but i could be wrong.

On the flip said, Trevor Lawrence has best in NFL possibilities to me. That kid was insanely good for a true freshman. He looks like a better Andrew Luck in college and that is saying something. Crazy he isn't eligible for another 2 years yet he is this good now.

He and Justin Fields will be highlighting the 2021 Draft. They've been competing since they were early in their high school years, and now are among two of the finest draftable QBs in recent memory.

Since I am not an OSU fan I have watched zero on Fields. I know he is this super athlete dual threat QB, but I have not witnessed him throwing the ball in a game yet. So this kid is that type of good too? If so, should be fun watching him play in the Big Ten which obviously is the conference I watch the most.

Two different animals.

They beat you in different ways, Lawrence has such an incredible set of physical tools in relation to his arm and pre-snap awareness. For his age?...My goodness, not since Luck and Manning/Brees have I seen someone so adept before the snap at recognizing coverage and what will be available.

Fields' abilities in that regard are way way behind Lawrence. But Fields makes up for it with athleticism and play extension capabilities. He's got an elite arm to be sure, and his accuracy is right where you'd like it to be as he enters the role of full time starter.

Here is his tape from Georgia:
What separates him from an NFL perspective is the read-option intangibles he has. His ability to read the indicators with regards to the keep/handoff is at a JT Barrett level, but with more elite arm talent that could make him a Top 10 pick.

Offensive Coordinators could look at either of these guys and know they could build an offense around their skills.

Thanks. He has deceptive speed, but right now he is throwing the ball late. True freshman, can be learned. Footwork is a bit off too, tends to throw off the back of his foot, but yet the accuracy was there. Strong arm for sure. Has allot of potential as you were saying. But he isn't there yet.

What amazes me about Lawrence that if he doesn't improve at all as a QB and I was drafting him right now, I still take him #1 overall. He just blows me away as a prospect. John Elway level prospect.

For the record, he is a much better prospect the Brees, I know what you mean about the reads, but Brees wasnt this level. I watched every minute of Brees in college, went to many games. He was good, historically good in the Big Ten, but that Lawrence kid is next level as a prospect even on reads. But, i am not saying anything crazy about Lawrence that the rest of the country isnt saying.

Definitely a better prospect than Brees, but speaking solely to his pre-snap capabilities, Brees was elite elite during his days at Purdue. Not that I have to tell you, you were there...

Nobody really appreciated that trait as much back then, but that has advanced along with the scouting we now have.

Tiller (the head coach) was really before his time and put 3 qb's into the NFL. Brees was lucky that he had Tiller as his college coach, and probably why he chose Purdue after every major Texas program overlooked him.

Once again Purdue has an elite offensive mind coach in Brohm and will never understand how we dont get 5 star qb recruits wanting to go there especially since we have one of the best receiving cores in the country with 2 or 3 5-star palyers.

Out of all the sports related people i have talked to, Tiller might have been my favorite because of personality and he was just so candid.

I do not watch nearly as much college football as a lot of you on here, but Tua's release looks painfully slow to me. I know his numbers are phenomenal, and he has great footwork, but that release really scares me. Also, doesn't Alabama have some of the best receivers in college football? Are they helping to inflate Tua's numbers?

One of the glaring numbers that I've seen is that Tua is extremely far behind a lot of QB's in this and next class as far as intermediate accuracy. Those numbers are really important at the next level, it's one of the biggest reasons Baker has looked so great in the NFL so far.

Right now, Tua is relying heavily on PA. He needs to improve significantly if he wants to become a top prospect.

Tua might have the best group of collegiate WR's ever assembled.

I don't mean that as a knock on Tua, but the talent in that group is easily the best I've ever seen in my lifetime.

This would not surprise me given his slow release. Secondaries will be able to adjust and pressure will be a problem.

Really? I'll have to watch them more this season. Is Alabama projected to be as dominate this season? Any potential prospects for the Browns?

As @AZ_ said, their WR'er group is amazing, especially Jeudy who might be the best WR to come out since AJ Green, IMO. They will be an offensive powerhouse, but I'm starting to get concerned with their defense. It's not been as good in the past few years, and their talent is quickly getting turned over into the NFL.

We'll see, but I think Clemson is going to be slowly but surely overtaking Alabama as the prestigious program in the country in a few years.
