Jeff Green played sick during both of those games, plus, we werent widley regarded as national champion contenders at the start of the season. and also, dont compare Georgetown Basketball to OSU basketball...not only is Geogretown one of the most highly regarded educational universitys in the country, the baskrtball program is in the same breathe as those of Duke, UNC and so on.
Dude you've had Ewing and Iverson and you are putting yourself on the same level as UNC and Duke. That is completely laughable.

Since you basically stated that championships are ALL that matter in the other thread, well, here ya go bud:

if you can't remember after 2004 I'm sure you can go and find that out pretty easily.

Duke and UNC both have 3. Georgetown only has one. Oh wait - Georgetown which is by and far a MUCH MUCH MUCH better basketball team than Ohio State...Ohio State has 1. Why don't you just say you're in the same breath with UCLA cause they've only got 11... 1>11 duh. I also see a lot more 2nd/3rd/4ths with the name Ohio State scattered throughout as well. But yeah that doesn't matter... :chuckles:

You said "You can have your team" as in they weren't any good.
Even if I'd said they weren't any good, which I didn't, that's still not a prediction.

I still say you can have your team, and I will say that even if they beat OSU next week.

In my pre-game prep, I was reading that OSU and Georgetown are tied for national titles with 1 each (hopefully OSU will have twice as many come monday), how OSU has twice as many final four appearances (10 to 5), and that prior to this year, OSU's last final four appearance was 1999 and Georgetown's was 1985. (For the math challenged, Georgetown was on a 22 year final four drought, 14 years longer than OSU.) Head to head, OSU leads the series 3-2, including tonight's game.

So yes, we should not compare Georgetown basketball to OSU basketball. Clearly Ohio State out classes Georgetown on the hard wood.

Honestly, I don't think of Georgetown in the same way I do other college basketball programs...Sure, they have had some great players, but they only have 1 championship..

I would say Duke, North Carolina, UCLA, Indiana, and Kentucky are the main 5 college basketball schools..

That next tier would involve Gerogetown, Kansas, Arizona, Michigan State, Ohio State, Uconn and possibly a school like Syracuse and so forth..

I agree with your top 5. My hope is that Matta sticks around, wins a few titles, and we see OSU slide into that elite group. They're clearly not there yet though.
