Wrong.

Cavs doing nothing and staying pat is inexcusable. Not even trying to trade Shumpert to get into this draft or buying a 2nd round pick is just bizarre.

They also should have traded Cedi.. he isn't going to do anything this year.. he hasn't improved in his time on Efes and the transition to the NBA is going to be tough.

Assets gain value you know this right? Osman has improved but not to a point where an NBA team will make him a deal breaker. He would be a throw and the only team I see wanting him is SA because they somehow turn these players into stars.

I would like to add, I am not just saying bad stuff because I just don't believe in him, but because I watched quite some Euro and Tu league games of his.
He might get sudden boost but, until now he did not look like someone making big impact in the NBA. I strongly believe that you have to toy around with euro competition before you are able to do anything in the nba. Rubio just destroyed defense while he was still here and we know how that went. Let alone all the lesser perimeter euros. In comparison with Bogdanovic (serbian) and Doncic (18years old) he looks pedestrian.
And even those 2 might do nothing.
You trade Cedi with Shump if someone is seeing more potential in him.

Something else, I would really like post LeBron era to be tilted a lot more towards development of players and hidden gems. They neglect this for ages.

This is the truth, in the bold. This is basically going to be the next two years.

What street do you get your info from? I'd suggest leaving that street.

Cedi Osman, from the point we drafted him until today, has drastically improved.

Eh, guys on the radio (not hosts) talking about his development in Europe. They said the same things that other people did following your post here. He looks like a non-factor. Trading him - if anyone wants him - is probably a good idea.

The biggest problem I have with this guy is the amount of money we have to sign him. I'd rather use the tax-MLE to sign proven vets rather than gamble with the little resources we have to improve this team on someone that Lue will keep pinned to the bench in the playoffs.

I heard this also- it was some old GM on 92.3 who said he was familiar with Cedi. Talked about his game, said he hasn't improved over the past couple years. Said he will likely be a rotational player off the bench, but don't count on him to make an impact.

But factually, it's incorrect.

He has improved. It's undeniable that he has gotten better.

That doesn't mean he'll translate, but he's definitely improved from 2015 to 2017.

How familiar is he, and when's the last time he saw him play though?

Cause actual Euroleague scouts, guys who are over there actually watching games all season long, have said on numerous occasions this season that he would have been a fringe lotto pick if he was in the draft last night...

Improved literally everything but his rebounding since we've drafted him, and that took a dip because he became his teams primary defender on the opposing teams best player. Saying he hasn't improved is just a terrible, terrible take at this point, cause it can be proven factually incorrect in a heartbeat...

Id think his info was legit from his point of view. they didn't grill him over his sources nor challenge his opinion.

Take it for what its worth, it was an opinion of a basketball guy.

I'm not discrediting the person, I'm discrediting the level and amount this guy has scouted Cedi...unless he's living in Turkey, or is there scouting the EuroLeague throughout the last 3 years, I'm not really going to buy his "he hasn't improved at all" take, cause that is literally, figuratively, factually, and statistically incorrect.

Perhaps. I'm not taking his word as gospel either. Im glad there are contrary reports out there stating he is improving.

Ricky Rubio is a top 5 passer and defender at the PG position. He's a starting PG on a 2yr/$28M deal and he's 26 years old. If Cedi has as much an impact for us as Ricky Rubio than that's a steal for us.

This guy is literally the first person I've heard say he isn't improving...and he was on bullshit Cleveland sports radio, the same radio that just said the Cavs should put LeBron on the trade block and once said Joe Thomas was on lean...

Rubio had a bunch of hype behind him. Cedi, not so much.
