#71: Christian Kirksey, LB, Iowa

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I also fell for Obi. The issue was then and would be now how quickly he'd be able to contribute anything meaningful to the Browns who need real help at safety right now. In all scenarios, the Browns did have to address QB at some point in the draft. There would have been a player who could help the Browns left on the board whenever that QB was taken. If they like Kizer, who are any of us to try to trump that opinion with our own half-baked thoughts with less intel than the Browns?

It feels like to me that you aren't everything mentally needed to be an expert in assessing mental capacity.

I am not referring to IQ, I am referring to like an it factor at QB. It feels like physically he had everything a QB needs, but I cannot understand why he seems to play poorly usually when his team needs it most, that is what I am referring too. He just does so many dumb things on his game film and sometimes it feels like he has no reason to. Watson is the opposite, he has the poise and it factor, but in the pros I didn't feel he can physically make all the throws with the faster and smarter pro defenses. I know if Kizer was playing for Alabama and a team like that, maybe he may have shown something different, but all I saw is a kid with physical tools, but between the lines on game day, never played up to what he was given and was almost a waste of talent at times. I hope I am wrong about him when he gets a chance to play for us.

Id rather have had the defensive potential in Obi since that side of the ball needed it more, but either way extending Kirksey and the moves the FO has made, all make sense even if I personally don't like the player they drafted. Getting a developmental QB with his upside and the physical talent makes since cause he was a need, just someone I completely disliked.

The it factor is back, baby.
