A Closer Look at Joel Embiid's Injured Foot

I wouldn't believe any reports you read about Embiid's medicals that come out between now and the draft...teams could be posturing hoping Embiid falls to them. ESPECIALLY Lakers/Celtics.

This has been my stance for the last three days. In Chad Ford's BS Report episode, you can follow all the pieces pretty easily:

1) He said that he has heard rumors that there are more red flags than just the back and the foot (like some sketchy bloodwork report, etc), but reiterated that is all speculation

2) He said that the ONLY teams with any of Embiid's records are the Cavs and the Bucks, and then both teams, especially the Cavs, have not leaked one word about what is in them to anyone.

3) Sooooo... nobody has the records, yet there are plenty of these rumors floating around like "Ooooh, he's got some real bad stuff going on. I know I wouldn't draft him any earlier than 6th or 7th..." Wonder who's putting those rumors out...

Love how the CVAS are using Ford as their mouthpiece.

They're dumping all this shit out there to see if they can get him to fall and scoop him up later. Latest I heard was he has hepititis (not horribly uncommon for African born players).

It's sad but Embiid is still the guy I hope we get. Hopefully Wiggins proves me wrong and is the next Paul George (don't get me wrong I like both Parker and Wiggins: I'm worried they're not going to be an Anthony Davis/Irving clear cut #1 type of talent)

This is only the start of their 2nd year of tanking. We Cavs fans have endured ours for much longer lol. I think they're doing things pretty well with their tank.

Well Philly's GM went on record saying the surgeon told him 5-8 months... So likely they will keep him out similar to Noel to try and break that 27 game losing streak record. The full 8 months would be beginning of March and there's no point to bring him back when he could go into a full offseason potentially healthy.

I love Embiid and wish him nothing but the best, but the Cavs don't have the luxury of waiting an entire year.

Hard to say whether it would have been the same here. Philly is tanking in full force. They can afford, and probably want, him to miss all of next year.
