A Closer Look at Rondae Hollis-Jefferson

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I guess we should just close this thread, then.

Again, as long as it doesn't require a mechanics overhaul, the easiest skill to teach at the NBA level is jump shooting...ask the Spurs and Kawhi.

Delly, Shump, RHJ, Tristan, Timo...that group would be fun to watch on defense...would probably score 70 points per 100 possessions on offense, but man that'd be a fun defensive grouping.

What's funny is that Delly, Shump, LeBron, TT, Timo scored 118 points per 100 possessions. It's absolutely incredible that a lineup like that can score that well, but defense led to offense, and LeBron did LeBron things as only he can.

That lineup gave up 70 points per 100 possessions, the best 5 man defensive unit in the league. RHJ could fit into that, but his inability to handle the ball or shoot worth a damn means I doubt we take him as long as we are trying to win right now with the rest of James's prime.

Like who? I'm tired of these "vets" who can give us nothing on the court. I like what I'm hearing about this guy. He plays hard and has a high motor. Very versatile and long on defense. Very athletic too, I was surprised from those highlights I saw. This is exactly what we need on this team. If he can develop a respectable jumper, it would be that much better. But you can never have too many people with a high motor on a team. I think he would fit right in.
The issue isn't that our bench is loaded with vets..it's that those vets are, ready for the scrapheap.
They don't have much left and are a waste.
Now I have no idea who Griff would look with Haywood's contract at but it would need to be younger players who are capable of playing 10-12 minutes possibly more.
That said, I want the best player available to help this team from the draft.
We know we need a backup PG and a SF (who actually plays SF) to give Lebron a rest but will it come from the draft or a trade?

That's exactly what my post was saying. For the record, I don't really want this guy now. I want Rozier or Anderson. Or if Grant somehow fell.

Just posted this in another draft thread, but applicable here as well:
http://fivethirtyeight.com/features/projecting-the-top-50-players-in-the-2015-nba-draft-class/

Nate Silver's guys project RHJ as the ninth best prospect based on projected +/-. He has the third-lowest projected bust potential of any prospect in the draft, and over 85% chance of being a starter to role-player type prospect. This was the same type of methodology that put Klay Thompson and Kawhi in the top 5 of the 2011 draft. I'm sold.
