A high school football forum

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
As an SWC (Slow White Conference) Alum, I must say I have no idea who my Westlake Demons played this week.

After looking it up I found out we were rained out. How anti-climatic. Not sure if they played the next day or something, and not sure I really care that much haha.

My school, Rocky River, got out of the SWC. Too many big schools. I was always sore after a game, but extra sore after playing the likes of Avon Lake, Falls Ahmerst and even North Olmstead.

Westlake is like River, in the fact that we lose a decent amount kids to Eds and Iggys. Definitely hurts.

DDDUUUUDDEEE, Im pretty sure you guys will win. 3/4 of our team is sophmores. But some teams just arent ready for our High Powered Wing-T offense.
Doubt it, we've been trash for years ha, i guess we will see friday.

I've suggested this before and the reason they don't have it makes sense. Too many high school kids would come on here and talk shit.

SWC had a rough week. Avon Lake lost to Maple as well. Olmsted Falls has been down as of late.

Dude, I know some of the kids that were on the Avon Lake teams in the dominant years. Most of that team (at least the starters) were juicing (i.e. Mike DeAndria).

I shot down the HS football thread last year, but I now feel that I was in the wrong. I have always been concerned that any high school thread would turn into a "No, YOUR school is gay" fight, and I don't want to see that crap on RCF.

At the same time, high school football is such a beautiful and pure form of sport, and Cleveland is one of the few regions of the U.S. that recognizes the epic dopeness. Fire away in this thread, and yes, that game last Saturday was epic: the best private school team in the city faced off against the best public school team in week one... sorry to all that didn't pay attention, because Glenville vs. Iggy is quality entertainment.

Glennville has so much talent, but will never win the big one. They'll always lose. Iggy and all the other schools have so much more discipline over those kids. It's sad, but true.

That high school football team in Canton that won 82-0 is classless. Three kids were injured on the other team and they're still running the spread. Take a freaking knee, show some sportsmanship.

I always laugh about who Brecksville had to play in their 2 playoff years (06 & 08). In 06, we went 9-1 in the regular season and were the 2nd seed in DI R1. Who was the 7th seed that year? None other than Warren G. Harding and their stud running back Dan Herron. Dude ran for like 400 yards on our defense. Last year we went 7-3 and were the 5th seed. I thought we would be playing like Mentor or Strongsville. Nope. How about Glenville and their Ohio State recruits Marcus Hall and Jonathon Newsome. Needless to say, that was not an exciting game either.

Man. Sounds like another bad night for the SWC. Brecksville fell 30-0 to Medina.

Again, I say this is not a good idea.
58-0?. Ouch.
Chaney is the Detroit Lions of High School Football.

Continuing on...

52-6

What does this all add up to?
172-13.

Watch out for Anthony Young at St. Eds, he's a WR, he's a freshman this year and on the freshman team, but watch for him in the next few years.

Brecksville loses 37-8 at the hands of Normandy. Apparently there were injuries to a couple players, including one that needed to be taken out on a stretcher.

Jenks Trojan Football (oklahoma).

when i was in middle school (i graduated high school 02) they were destroying teams and routinely in the top 25 in the USA today rankings (right now they are 24th). Its actually really sad that their best team ever just got them enough recognition to really put oklahoma football on the map and I believe they probably could have gone toe to toe with any HS football team in the country. That team ended up up with 2 NFLers on that team (though none of them more than backups- poor rocky calmus) and in the last 12 years have had 5 NFLers total. the 96-97 team allowed a total of 100 yards rushing, for the season, in the largest class of football (going into the playoffs teams actually had negative yards rushing against them the season). Their star LB/RB ended up the bukus award winner for oklahoma (rocky as mentioned earlier), and they just totally dominated teams.... oh sweet sweet memories

now that i live in maryland the HS football just sorta sucks. I dont know about ohio but in oklahoma it wasnt surprising to have 10,000 people at a High school game (i attended 2 that had more than 45000 people in attendance). in maryland 1000 is a fantastic turn out.

my best memory ever of high school football. Rocky Calmus as mentioned earlier was the RB, and broke a 80 yard touchdown run but it was called back for holding. the coaches ran the same play right after that.. 90 yard touchdown run. Calmus had 200 yards rushing in the first half of the semifinal game that year.

Mayfield checking in here and despite what the Cleveland.com forums have depicted, I maintain some class. We've looked good recently and are 3-0 this year. I will proudly root for my alma mater, but not without class.

Lets show some RCF class and posting etiquette in this thread because I refuse to speak about high school sports anywhere else at this point.
