A New Beginning

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
at this time of the year I would want a young player with potential back. Korver is one guy I would not mind staying until the trade deadline when I think we could get more out of him. He does have value and a pretty digestible short term contract
anyone on these teams we would want ?
I would prefer a younger player for Korver vs a pick. I don't think they are going to make any panic moves, just testing the waters to see what other clubs are going to offer.

Korver for Delly makes a hell of a lot of sense for both teams; they need more shooting around Giannis while Delly is a perfect mentor and addition to our guards.

Spurs are older an ABA team and so were Kings.

I was teasing a bit. I love the orange and Blue, but I realize those are knicks colors, so many people want something more unique.
I like the Wine/Gold scheme especially with the gold jerseys ..blue/orange is a common used color.
Although blue is my favorite color it's on a team I don't like..NY.and I only liked the Knicks when they had Frazier/Earl the Pearl Monroe.

I disagree. Korver is a better mentor. Sextons biggest weakness is shooting. Cedi isnt the best shooter. Nance wants to add a three ball to his game. Korver is a great asset to have around to teach people how to shoot. Delly is a hustle player and Sexton already goes at full tilt and so does Cedi. Korver is better since his biggest strength happens to be what Sexton and Cedi both need to improve the most.

I wouldn't trade Korver for Delly. Yes he was a great backup PG and defender but he's really not what we need.

Completely agree. Its like having one of the best shooting coaches in the league. I mean the guy was even training Lebron.

My only problem keeping him is he is fighting father time at 37. How many players play that long? We don't want to be hanging on to him when he takes the inevitable turn and his value goes completely out the window.

He’s always going to be able to shoot, he’s always going to be a good influence for his teammates—especially for a young team—and he’s always going to stay in shape.

At 37, I don’t see a cliff on the remainder of his contract. He’s already getting by with smarts and hustle over athleticism.

He’s going to inevitably lose minutes due to his age and lack of defensive versatility, but his role and ability to help this team go beyond his on-court play.

He had a hard time getting his shot up in the playoffs with LeBron running action for him. I do think he is valuable but if someone will give us a good young player or a 1st round pick for him, I wouldn't hesitate to move him. Now if the offers are just a 2nd round pick from a playoff team, I would keep him.

Agree and I was an original Delly Stan.

Everyone mentions Korver’s shooting, but the man knows team defense as well. Besides Bron who often didn’t try on defense this year, Korver was the only one who always knew the rotations and where to go.

Additionally, most people think we just had Bron freelancing everything and though there was some of that, take a look at any play Korver was a part of and see his movement and the picks he set for Love on the wings, for Bron at the top of the key, his efficiency in movement when running off is screens. The guy understands how to play his role as well as any role player ever has, honestly, and he was used rather well by a much maligned staff.

I want him around to teach these youngsters how to shoot, how to get open, how to get others open.

One thing I would like to see is a truly world class strength and conditioning program. Let’s become that team.

Obviously Lebron did all that on his own, but a lot of the guys that took big leaps like Oladipo were solely because they got into incredible shape.

Like that whole Heat team a few years ago that they ended up overpaying was a function of how serious their fitness program was. They made the mistake of overpaying their new creations, and many of them got lazy again, or simply hit their ceiling, but considering it can be done failrly cheap, inflates the performance and value of your existing team, it’s one of those things that a small market franchise can do to really get the most out of their guys and increase their trade value.

Let's get a good "supplement" clinic just like in Miami for starters and refer every draft pick and new acquisition there, and see how it goes. I bet we will look real good.

I like the idea...but you gotta start with the basics.

The Cavs would be so stupid to get rid of korver.

He is THE veteran that you want on this team plus he’ll end up being a shooting coach once his career is finished.

He’s also not good enough to make us too competitive.

We can lose productively with him while mentoring our young shooters....
