Adaptive sync (gsync or freesync) mega thread

I'm currently using this:

ASUS ROG PG278Q 27" 2560 x 1440, 144 Hz 1ms NVIDIA G-Sync

My next monitor will be an IPS as I'd prefer the better color and viewing angle over the better refresh rate and response time. Honestly, 60 FPS is fine for what I do.

I'm currently running this bad boy:

ASUS RoG Swift PG348Q ... 3440x1440 UltraWide 100hz G-Sync IPS panel...

Best monitor I've ever used... hands down.

It's actually very good for productivity not only because it's ultrawide but because the 100hz can be used on the desktop, with a button press.. just "click" and the fucker is 100hz..

IPS is a must for me; and the color reproduction is fantastic.

If you're a hardcore gamer, you'd probably want to look at something else with higher refresh rates. I think there's also a 200hz version of this monitor coming out and if it's around the $1,200 price point I'll sell mine and upgrade to that one.

IMHO, the LG UC97 and UC98's are great, but FreeSync only, and only 75hz.. but they have way more features like PiP, splitscreen, and a gang of inputs.

Nonetheless, I've managed to do everything I've wanted to do on the ASUS without any real issues.

Nice monitor! I had been lusting over the PG279Q, but Microcenter here ran a sale on an Acer X-34 Predator and I went for that, $999 compared to the 799 for the ASUS. I had to take on that extra size for just $200 more.

My requirements were G-Sync and IPS. UWHD was just a bonus.

X-34 is badass... Very comparable.. For me it was between those two...

G-Sync, IPS, Ultrawide? Nothing compares.

I wish I had a UWHD monitor when I was doing UNIX Admin work for my daily. Working on my own personal servers is a dream w/ that much desktop!
