Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I'd love him on this team. Or Motiejunas. But our cap situation is terrifying. We're pretty much restricted to vets, d-leaguers and unsigned collage players. We do have the TPE...

Larry Sanders would come very cheap MLE risk reward. He is for sure possible, as some said but not sure how the heck we would get him but Hibbert is also possible I think the Lakers still have him under contract though right?

I guess our only hope is that guys get cut or amnestied and we snag em.

i would love john henson on this team. young, very good shot blocker, very limited minutes in MIL. but i guess that could change depending on what they do monroe.

Some dude at my work thinks we can get Howard lol... Really though Hibbert would do just fine for what he would be used for. Otherwise not sure who we would target here.
Cavs could sign and trade for Dwight Howard. Houston still has his rights.

P.s.

No I'm not saying we should or will just saying what is possible.

But Howard is deep into meetings with others who dont have to do a sign and trade plus we are not trading Love for Howard. I would say chances are around 0 percent. Better chance Wade gets drunk on vacation and takes the mini mid level lol

Could get Greg Monroe I guess through a Mozgov S&T?

Milwaukee Sends Greg Monroe to Cleveland
Cleveland Sends Mozgov S&T to Lakers, who absorb into Cap Room

Not sure what Milwaukee actually wants for Monroe (I know they are shopping him). Would probably need to send something to the Lakers to get them to accept the S&T.

Since we are only trading a S&T guy, I don't think we need to worry about the tax apron here (like we would with Howard etc.)

Yeah that is not happening. What are the Bucks getting that make that any way worth while. Plus Lakers have no need for such trade.

God I thought this thread was dead:( I am really curious as to what we see here. I think Frye is probably going to play more minutes at Center and TT will get exclusively center minutes with KLove getting 7-8 a game.

I guess if it means more lebron at the 4 it's a good thing. We know it is really fucking hard to get a center on the cheap.

I liked the versatility that going big or small gave us. Maybe I am underestimating Frye. He has actually been a decent post presence and shot blocker.

I wouldn't mind starting Frye and destroying first units only to have TT come off the bench and destroy morale.

Sorry I am all over the place, giving all those 1st and 2nd rounders for Moz is making me angry.

I clearly didn't add compensation into that trade. It is just a way to add a significant exchange in salary by taking a player who is known to be on the trading block.

Send a First + Cedi Osman to Milwaukee and a second to the Lakers?

Not sure what Milwaukee actually wants for Monroe - have had a hard time figuring out his value in this league.

Yeah, he's the guy I'm most curious about...when he's right, he's the best paint protector in the league...but if he comes back, how much money is he going to look for? We don't exactly have a lot of expendable cap space...could slow down our process a bit if we wait it out to see if he wants to play again.

Maybe a lot. :( The way these contracts are going, I think he can get a pretty penny.

Here are the free agent centers according to NBA.com and their ages. The only guys I could see being an option are Mahinmi, Hibbert, & Zeller. Zeller is a known blabber mouth (no thanks), Mahinmi (will probably get paid), and Hibbert (may also get paid). I challenge someone to find a C on that list we can afford who isnt either old or immobile. Okafor or Sanders need to be above everyone not named Hibbert on that list.

Aldrich, Cole 27
Dedmon, Dewayne 26
Drummond, Andre 22
Ezeli, Festus 26
Hibbert, Roy 29
Howard, Dwight 30
Kaman, Chris 34
Mahinmi, Ian 29
Marjanovic, Boban 27
Mohammed, Nazr 38
Mozgov, Timofey 29
Noah, Joakim 31
Pachulia, Zaza 32
Perkins, Kendrick 31
Plumlee, Miles 27
Sacre, Robert 27
Varejao, Anderson 33
Whiteside, Hassan 27
Zeller, Tyler

Guys TT is our starting center. Whoever we get is going to be 4th in the rotation behind Frey. Guy is going to be a young unproven player or a vet looking for a ring like a David West or guy trying to bring his career back like Sanders or Okafor. Monroe and Howard are beyond pipe dreams.

We don't wanna wear TT down by starting him at C all season.

I'm not sure what the going rate is for a headcase who left basketball on a whim and hasn't played in over a year...not sure anyone does...

What about Kevin Seraphin? Rich Paul is his agent.
