Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
TT is our C.. Frye is our backup C...not many C will give them problems...

So Al Jefferson, Myles Turner, among other bigs Indy has won't give them any problems?

Cavs definitely need to add another big somewhere. Unless their going to play Kaun more next season, which I really doubt.

Acquiring a wing, additional big, and depending on the Delly situation, finding a point guard willing to take the vet minimum would be the ideal offseason moves.

No Turner and Al isn't going to give TT problems.. Whiteside,Howard, and Jonas maybe will.. But Frye has height and can bring them all out away from the paint .. There is always a big vet out there somewhere you can sign cheap to go in on occasion and give you some minutes...hell Birdman may be able too...lot of options IMO

Frye on offense is great, but Frye on defense isn't so great.

You'd need to have Thompson out there for sure with him, otherwise our inside defense is at a huge risk.

Frye also is a below average rebounder for his size.

I like Frye a lot, good fit, but he can't be relied upon when the Cavs play against teams who have low post scorers, and Big Al is one of those guys who can put in work down low.

What about Ryan Hollins ? He is a tall guy who should be able to provide some relief minutes and should be available cheap right ? Although i admit i do not know how he is recently.

All we need is someone to soak up 15-20 minutes a game in the regular season and play sparingly in the playoffs. Need to keep the wear and tear off TT so he is fresh and ready to go in the playoffs.

Easier said than done, but I really don't care who we get as long as they fill the role.

Are any of those options even better than Kaun?

With the obvious exceptions [Drummond, Howard, Whiteside] and the ones off or expected to be off the market sooner or later [Ezeli, Mahinmi, Mozgov, Noah, Varejao, Zeller, Aldrich, Plumlee] that leaves Dewayne, Hibbert, Kaman, Mohammed, Pachulia, Perkins, and Sacre. Why are those worth more cap space than Kaun?

We don't have any cap space, so not sure why that is a concern.

I'd take most of those players over Kaun. Kaun is godawful based on the limited time we've seen him play. His FT's are atrocious. Teams would just play hack-a-Kaun if they couldn't stop us.

Hibbert would be great if LeBron can help him get his head on straight. Rim protection for 15-20 minutes a game while TT rests.

You're still thinking in 2015 terms. If Mozgov got $16 million and Biyombo got $17 million a year, what will Hibbert get? Over $10 million for sure. We can't afford that.

Guessing that Kaun will be waived this summer and his remaining $1.3M salary will be stretched over 3 years. Would rather have a Vet minimum for $0.9M and Kaun's $0.4M versus having him on roster at $1.3M

It's obvious he's not an NBA player and shouldn't be taking up a roster spot.

Koufos would be the ideal target. IMO we get more production from him than Moz and he has a very small salary by 2016 standards.

i would dangle shump and maybe osman for koufos and mclemore??

Sac could use a player who has championship experience and knows how to win.

we could really use Kouf and Collison but he has the spousal abuse shit

I hate to say it, but the most straightforward answer is Anderson Varejao. Vet minimum. Gives us as much or more than any other bum FA C out on the market. CBA rules allow us to sign him. He can eat minutes. He's a Certified Lebron Favorite. He can earn his ring. AV will be coming home.
