Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I hate to say it, but the most straightforward answer is Anderson Varejao. Vet minimum. Gives us as much or more than any other bum FA C out on the market. CBA rules allow us to sign him. He can eat minutes. He's a Certified Lebron Favorite. He can earn his ring. AV will be coming home.

AV can't come home until 365 days from the date we traded him...not happening.

People continue to spit this narrative, it's simply not true. It clearly states (bolding my own): "(h) If a Team trades a player and the assignee Team subsequently places the player on waivers, the assignor Team shall not be permitted tosign the player to a new Contract (or claim the player off of waivers)before the earlier of: (i) one (1) year following the date all conditions to thetrade were satisfied; or (ii) the July 1 following the last Season of the player’s Player Contract."

That's true only if Andy was an expiring contract when we traded him...since 16-17 was partially guaranteed, that rule does not apply to him, and so we can't sign him until 365 days after the day we traded him.

We've gone through this like 6 or 7 times already in the 2.5 weeks since the season has been over...

AV is finished; wouldn't want him back even if he were an option. No thanks.

Getting Larry Sanders would be a dream...low risk/HIGH reward.

Whatever happened to Emeka Okafor? Wasn't there talk about him last year, or is he still injured?

Last update I saw was a year and a half ago. He was rumored to be "healthy" but reluctant to rush a return. I'm guessing he's done.

Man, when we got Moz, I was so happy this thread was dead. Getting a good center is so hard these days. I have a lotta faith in TT, but I liked having a hulk around

Portland looks interesting now Ezeli has signed there - I doubt they need both Mason Plumlee and Ed Davis to back him up.

Plumlee is the better player by far but would cost more in terms of assets and is only cost-controlled for one year (although v. cheap for that year). Would like to have him but probably a luxury.

Davis has two years at ~$6m; you can't play him and TT together but you might get him for just a TPE and a 2nd, and he'd give you 20 serviceable minutes as a roll man and solid defensive player, plus he's pretty durable. And he could play with Frye as he's quick enough to guard most 4s.

McGee would be an OK option for a min salary...we should be a good environment for him, if Lebron doesn't break his spirit by screaming at him too much when he makes mistakes.

If we get Rudy it's over

Fuck toy golden state asterisks

I would love McGee if we could get him at vets min. Great rim protector. Finishes strong. And has good hands. I personally think his dumb on court decisions are over blown and a lot of proportion because of shaqtin a fool.
