Addressing the hole at center

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
My ideal situation for the Cavs would be to get Bogut, but that is looking bleak.

If I'm the Cavs, I call up Sac and see if they're finally willing to deal Kofous.

I'm really not impressed with Koufos man, happens every time I watch him.
I would like to take a flyer on WCS, I think he is a guy that can really excel with LBJ.

WCS is worse, and has not developed in anyway, at all. Maybe if we weren't so pressed on winning now I'd be willing to take a flier on him. But he doesn't help us at all right now.

Koufos is a really good defensive center. He's not a starter. We need someone to fill the Frye role at the 5, because he's been awful.

He'd at least help solve some of our defensive woes. I don't think it's vital to replace Thompson as a starter. He's been steady, but we can't rely on Frye as our backup 5. He's been atrocious.

WCS was excellent for a rookie in his 1st season. He plays only 11 minutes a night on a dysfunctional team with the second unit.
He is a great finisher and a good defender when engaged,he has a higher upside and he can still help this team this year.
Jeff Withey is better than both of them for what the Cavs need.

He's on a horrible team, and they've already given up on their lottery pick one year removed. That should tell you everything how bad he's been.

I think he is just a headcase but it's really not because of the product on the court. Look at Mclemore for example, he has been an absolute bust but they are reluctant to trade him for years because he is a good kid and still shows potential but is extremely inconsistent.
I think it's much more than how he plays basketball. Still, I like his upside.

Any chance Tyson Chandler gets bought out? He was a rumored candidate earlier in the season, and the team he's on, the Suns, have definitely done their part in sucking to help facilitate a possible buyout and it making sense. Chandler would be the PERFECT rim protection backup 5 this team needs.

Backup? Lol he'd be starting and TT would be coming off the bench like he used to.

Hes not the Tyson Chandler of old. He would probably be coming off of the bench just because of the chemistry TT has with the staring lineup. You'd see him in larger lineups if we had the right matchup in the playoffs, but that'd be it.

As mentioned earlier I heard that he was a buyout candidate from a buddy in Phoenix. The problem is the Suns are at $85 mil right now in salary, the floor is $84 mil and some change, if they move Chandler or cut him, that will put them $11 mil below the salary floor. Forcing them to pay $11 mil to the league. No way their organization does this. You might as well pay for a player.

Not sure if he's even healthy but would Portland accept picks for Mason Plumlee? He's a RFA this offseason, making about 2 million this year. They probably won't pay him with all of their huge contracts (Lillard, McCollum, Turner, Crabbe). And they might not even make the playoffs. Turner just got hurt.

Bought out? I haven't seen anything remotely legitimate about that. There's no way.

He's also guaranteed 26.5 million over the next 2 years...no way he gets bought out.

Anyways, I'm going to start the Eric Moreland train in here...if they don't address a big at the deadline or in the buyout market, hope they give him a look.

Like the way he moves on the floor for how big and long he is.

Kosta Koufos still feels like an option to me only because the Cavs seem to get tunnel vision about players they want and Koufos has been a target at previous deadlines.

Alexis Ajinca is available and pretty cheap. If the 76ers and Pelicans talk about Okafor again, maybe the Cavs could find a way to get Ajinca.

The Pelicans would love to get rid of Asik but that contract is ugly.

Bogut would be nice but don't see a buyout.

Tyson's contract is too large and Ibaka would be great but hard to see the Cavs having enough.

I'd also add to that list Jeff Withey.

He's completely fallen out of Utah's rotation, is a free agent following this season and will almost certainly walk, and can fit into one of our TPEs. Probably can be had for just a 2nd too, if we can come across one.
