West slots in as likely the Spurs 3rd big
A'mare might slot in ahead of Birdmand and Udonis as the Heats 3rd big man.

Regardless of Andy, with Love, TT, and Moz already here, perhaps both saw a better opportunity for minutes and a better role in SAS and MIA

A'mare is also originally from Florida, has played with Tragic, and has a home in Florida. But I think it was more about opportunity
 
A few thoughts:

  • What is with this defeatist title? 'Fooled thrice?' please. Temp suspend the mod responsible, or just make Keys rename it 'Snare Safari 2016: from the salt truck to the parade float'
  • How many minutes is he really going to find there with Hassan and Bosh? I thinks the Heat FO is quietly hedging in case Whiteside turns back into a pumpkin.
  • Can't wait to play that Heat team with both at full strength. Going to be a fun one.
 
It was fun reliving safaris past, but this didn't exactly qualify as one. To my knowledge, Broussard is the only one who linked Stoudemire to the Cavs and it struck me as little more than idle speculation on his part. Or maybe someone planting the idea, Remember Amare has ties with Griffin from Phoenix, which he then recycled so everyone could get spun up.

So Stoudemire didn't pick Miami over Cleveland, but I really doubt the Cavs were even interested. They also didn't pursue him when he was bought out last season even though they needed a 4th big (and ultimately of course signed Perkins). Maybe the Clippers (since Doc wants to sign just about every vet who ever played well against one of his teams) or another team made him a minimum offer.

Also I'm still not sold on the Heat being this super freak of nature team that we should be scared of.

We'd embarrass them in 5 in a playoff series. Chicago was better last year than Miami will be at any point this year or next.
 
Miami isn’t scary because there’s practically a zero percent chance that team can stay healthy.

I agree, but I'll say this, they are finally for the first time in a LONG time building a team with nice depth.

That's what they got to do, given the health/durability with some of their key players.

Wade might be able to take more time off, given they've added some nice wing depth.

I expect Miami to be a top-4 team this year, but they still have no change against us.
