Andrew “Euro Step” Harrison

Do Not Sell My Personal Information
I died laughing when I saw the name of this thread was changed. man, whenever he comes on the floor I get anxious. that "Euro Step" play was a pleasant surprise in a sea of doo-doo

kind of reminds me of the Ramon Sessions days, but a "Great Value" version of such

That was a great trey last night in the 4th. Helped keep the Cavs keep their foot on 76ers.

Once you draft you also need a stable atmosphere to let the players grow and develop. Please go back and think about the last rebuild before Lebron came through the door. It was going horrribly bad for 4 years and if Waiters, Irving and Wiggins had all shared a locker room, Blatt would have had to check himself into a mental hospital by April of his first year.

Feeling any better two weeks later?

I thought the sixers game was his best game in a Cavs uniform. If he plays like that, it basically what we need for a backup point guard if the organization wants to keep Clarkson. If he is able to set up the other guys, play decent defense, knock down a couple open shots, and control the ball/Clarkson, that's the perfect pairing with Clarkson and our 2nd unit. Lets hope he can be a backup PG that can understand to set up other guys when Clarkson is cold and let Clarkson do his thing when he is on fire, while managing the clock so the unit isn't taking bad shots early in the shot clock.

I was one of the posters that liked Sexton at 8, so that was never a huge concern. I want to see who the coaching staff and front office is made up two years from now, as well as the roster. Gilbert needs to find his Dorsey and get out of the way and provide the cash.

Harrison could be a nice backup PG depending on the circumstances. Like you said, he needs to manage things and have a good feel for where Clarkson is at, etc. But if Clarkson is gone (likely at some point with his numbers - someone will come asking in February), he can still be good in the role if there are scorers coming off the bench. He's not a guy who will ever generate much offense on his own, but he can facilitate and lead the second unit. Plays tough D and has very good length and size at the 1.

If you don't need your backup PG to be a sparkplug (and you really should set your team up so that he's not - he should be keeping the second unit on task on both sides to that at least no ground is lost when the starters are sitting), then Harrison has potential at the position.

I look at him and I think Antonio Daniels. Anyone else?

I think you're right that he could have potential even if Clarkson isn't here. I do think he will have to work on his 3 point shot more if we move on from Clarkson. He has the potential to be a PG, SG, or even a SF off the bench if we have another ball handler/scorer to pair with him. He can be a secondary ball handler and if the offense has more ball movement, a decent 3 pt shot will more necessary.

If Clarkson keeps putting up his numbers off the bench it's only a matter of time until someone comes asking. His contract is pricier but it also is done after next season. For a playoff caliber team that wants bench scoring, Clarkson has promise and is not a long term commitment.

So I expect Harrison will get experience playing without Clarkson. I don't expect he'll ever be a great three point shooter, but I think if he has other offensive threats around him that he can shoot 35-36%. He also needs to still drive to the basket. He's been able to do that well.

Echoing the sentiments about him in the 76ers game. He had a good feel with a lot of people in his face. Really good vision for the court. When Sexton went out I didn't feel as anxious about him being in there. It's as if he figured it out then. Agree with him being the guy that needs to be out there when Clarkson comes off the bench.

-15 in 9 minutes tonight :chuckle:

Can we bring up Scoochie Smith

He is very infuriating to watch. Can't create anything off the dribble because he is too slow, gets tunnel vision and likes to play hero ball and thinks he is the man for some reason.

Bring Scoochie Smith to run the 2nd unit's offense.

I think the rest of the league has gotten the tapes of his Euro-step and they're wise to it... and that's the only move he has.

When I first saw him I wasn't impressed. But to me it seems like he plays solid ball that doesn't effect the game much. Pretty much a "Play him because you have no one better player". He is pretty decent tho.
